Hotel Blue Conga

Front desk lied to us when we tried to check in. Said they had never heard of Hotels.com nor Expedia. Said they had no rooms even though we had a confirmation and pre paid receipt from Hotels.com.
I contacted Hotels.com and they contacted the hotel. Miraculously, the front desk remembered Hotels.com ! Front desk told the Hotels.com agent that the new agreement had not been signed yet....

Nettes Holel mit schönen Pool. Gute Lage. Freundliches Personal. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Keine Klimaanlage aber dafür ein großer Ventilator auf dem Zimmer. Kein TV.

The hotel was more like a hostel/motel. Not what I was expecting for the price on this site. The manager is awesome and very friendly, but the place is not.

Great place to stay at in Puerto Viejo - we had a nice clean room with probably the best facilities (aka hot showers!) in Costa Rica.
Friendly staff, decent breakfast and close to town as well.

Wij hadden de standaard kamer. Deze was echt basic. En je hoorde alle geluiden van boven en de aangrenzende kamers. De ligging is net buiten de stad en is goed. Dus spijtig van al het lawaai Mooie ontbijtruimte en mini zwembadje. Ontbijt is traditioneel en goed. Wij hadden 2 dagen geen warm water rn toen we dit vertelden kregen we een upgrade naar een betere kamer maar ook daar hoorden we alles van de buren

El hotel tiene buen hubicacion,pero esta muy viejo el precio esta bien para lo caro que es costa rica pero no esperes gran cosa.

Personnel très agréable. Chambre propre avec tout le confort prévu.

The mattress and pillows could use some updating and the room I was in has no privacy because the only window that has to stay open faces the driveway and main walkway. Breakfast was very tiny and not available until 730 (actually.late at 8am every day I was there) making it hard to get an early start on activities.

But the people there are very nice and will do everything they can to make you comfortable.

Excellent value for dollar, amazing staff willing to accommodate your every need and then some. Great location, 5 min walk to the beach and easy ten minute walk to center of town. Nice breakfast and pool. Very clean and safe. You can tell the owners really take pride in their hotel. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

Very nice place located close to the town and Jaguar refuge (a must see). In Jaguar tour even got a few "bonus" animals!

Excellent service from Stephanie & Peggy and breakfast is top notch. Unfortunately we had bad weather during our stay but we enjoyed our time anyway

I very much enjoyed my stay at Blue Congo, the staff were fantastic, very helpful and friendly. The hotel is slightly basic and the pool was full of bugs but this didn't effect my stay. The location is great, 20 minute walk from the beach with lots to do.

Bad Stay. No AC, No TV, No Ice, No drinkable Water, No Waist basket except for the one in Bathroom, there to put used Toilet Paper in. Hot water sometimes.
uncomfortable Wood chairs on balcony. We stayed at 3 hotels in Costa Rica, This was the worst and most expensive.

Rustic meaning , all basic necessities very comfortable, simple, clean getaway without the glam and distractions of TV, room phones, and busy, crowded lobbies or public areas. Lots of natural wildlife were watched from hotel balcony and breakfast area from tucans, hummingbirds, squirrels to even a large sloth. Excellent breakfast each morning including a variety of fresh fruit. Stephanie and Becky were very helpful in suggesting and arranging a variety of activities from zip line to horseback riding to animal sanctuary tours. A close walk into town for a huge selection of tasy restaurants, street food, grocery stores, shopping and fruit stands. Lastly the proximity to numerous beaches from excellent surfing, stunning views to actual black sand beach on the north side of town. The friendliness and smiles on everyone's faces from locals to tourist to the hundreds of backpacking hostel dwellers reflects the safety and natural paradise of this little town, Puerto Viejo. Definitely worth a visit.

I found this hotel after searching for a hotel where I wouldn't need to spend a whole lot of money. This was perfect! Very good deals and awesome hotel. Very simple amenities but that makes it great. The fan helps you keep cool and I cannot begin to explain how much that hotel staff makes you feel like family. Stephanie and Michel were so helpful! The breakfast is very good and if you feel it's not enough just politely ask for more. If you are looking for a place with AC and 4-5 star amenities this isn't your place. I will tell you though that staying here is a much better experience and its in a very cool little area just a walk from the town. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately because of the weather conditions and power outage in Puerto Viejo we were unable to stay at the Hotel Blue Conga. We did however, drop by the Blue Conga to see what we were missing...The swimming pool and lounge area outdoors looked very inviting! The host was very kind and helpful. She was very happy to let us take a looksie! We will plan to stay there in the future if the opportunity comes up.
