Good fitness facilities, pool and spa brilliant. Room was clean and shower in room was good!
It is ideally situated to the Western General Hospital. We stayed over on the Sunday as I had an early admission the following day. Parking was ideal and it saved a lot of time worrying about traffic. The hotel was ideal and the staff were great.
Nothing really. It was ideal for us
The staff were excellent, very friendly and efficient.
Very expensive possibly due to the rugby being on.
Update: I have now received what I consider to be a very disrespectful email from Stewart, the general manager of the hotel.
Despite several attempts to contact him by phone, Stewart has avoided my calls and instead instructed the receptionist to ask me to email him, which I did. In my email I respectfully explained that the issue in my room, as well as the one in my mum’s room, was never properly resolved.
His response essentially stated that because maintenance attended my room, I should be satisfied with that — even though the problem returned. For context, the toilet in my room would not even flush a single piece of toilet paper. Imagine the embarrassment of having to call maintenance simply to flush something bigger! Yet according to Stewart, the fact that maintenance came once means the issue was resolved.
I repeatedly raised my concerns with staff during our stay and made it clear how dissatisfied we were. In the end, we cancelled our stay for the following night due to the ongoing issues. That night was refunded, but there has been no accountability for the problems we experienced.
What makes this even more confusing is that Stewart has not even acknowledged my request for a refund for my mum’s room, yet my sister-in-law — who experienced the same issues — has already been refunded.
How does that make any sense? Stewart has now replied telling me to stop calling the hotel as his staff cannot help me . I have made over 6 calls to this hotel as everytime i called I was told I need to speak to somone else the next day ! This happend over 5/6 times .
I will never stay at a village hotel ever again.
Customer service so far has been appauling, i have been chasing my complaint issues now since our stay on the 16th of Feb.
We were booked to stay for 2 nights however there were issues with all 3 of our rooms that were not able to be resolved . We travlled up from birmingham and were so tired and hungry only to find a unstaitafactory reduced menu due to an issue with the kicthen. We then had to venture out for food as the kids were hungry. Issues with all three rooms toilets were not flushing. Reported this immideatly had a gent come up and mess a round with it seemed to work except i didnt . Then i get a phone call from my brother and mum staying in oppisite rooms they had the same issue .Again this was reported . Brekafast n the morning was basic if that .Since then i have been chasing a refund with the hotel only to speak to sevral memebers of staff all saying I need to speak to someone else. Every time i call back im told the same thing. I have been promised the next person i speak to will be a manager and yet still have not spoken to one yet !! I will never stay at village hotel again. I feel bad for my family as it was my idea to book this hotel but it caused so much stress and headache even after our stay. No value for money.
Location, staff, spacious room, 2 double beds, parking
Our room was noisy despite being in quiet zone & they couldn’t find out where the noise was coming from.
Pool crazy busy on Sat morning.
