Old but not gold
Pros:

Die Lage war gut und das Frühstück war inklusive.

Cons:

Alles ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und dafür leider deutlich zu teuer.

Would NOT recommend
Pros:

It was close to the water and the staff were friendly.

Cons:

The room I was “upgraded” to had a horrible mould smell which I later realized was from the A/C unit leaking into the carpet - it was wet and gross and awful. The rooms were very very dated. Brown carpets and tiny bathrooms. YUCK.

Lobby and public rooms well appointed; but turned out to be lipstick on a pig.

Cons:

Condition of room. Chipped, scarred millwork; Beat up furniture; stains on chair. Bathroom fan not working. Mold on bathroom ceiling. Towels stained. Bath mat old and dingy. Bedroom floor dirty. Windows inside and out filthy. View was of a shopping mall parking lot; directly above a brilliantly lit late night convenience store. Crack heads. Was told to keep driving around the shopping Center until a space opened up for our free parking.
Not a fan of large containers of shampoo etc for all hotel guests to use.
No air conditioning. Portable fans in the room. Hallway carpeting dingy, stained with burns. Other hallway flooring improperly installed and lifting (spongy)
We were very disappointed from a ‘Coast’ representative. Will not be back, nor recommend.

Fabulous location! Central to shops ...art gallery ...spirit square for the music and farmer's market
Great breakfast! And good meals in the restaurant...especially the salmon

Not a bad choice for Campbell River
Pros:

The Coast discovery is a very decent hotel and a wonderful location. Check-in was excellent. We had an issue trying to get our streaming services to playon the TV in our room. Call down and maintenance arrived very very quickly and dealt with the problem immediately. The included hot breakfast was decent, nothing exceptional but more than enough to see you through a busy day. We truly can’t say enough to compliment the hostess in the breakfast room. Her happy demeanour and bright smiling face was welcome every morning. Truly an asset.Our only true issue with hotel was housekeeping. On the first full day there we returned to the room late afternoon to find the room had not been made up. We encountered a housekeeping trolly in the hall and asked for some fresh coffee and fresh towels, which she was happy to give us. We let that go from there as we were staying in the room for the remainder of the day. The next day we returned to the roomvery late in the afternoon to again find that our room was not made up. Call down and advised the front desk and a housekeeper was sent upto take care of things. She did a great job but was a shame that at 5 PM. We had to actually call down for housekeeping. The third day we returned late in the afternoon again to find that the room had been sort of made up, and I use that term loosely.The covers had been pulled up on the bed, but the bed not truly made. None of the garbage was emptied, the recycling was still there, and the towels while fresh were not arranged as they should have been. We would probably stay there again despite this as the location, etc., was exactly what we needed.

Such a huge disappointment
Pros:

When we arrived in Campbell River the temperature was 33C. We checked in, walked up to our room and discovered there was no air conditioning. Instead we had a window that opened about 6 inches and a fan. Unacceptable.
The view was awful...out of the window was a flat roof which had several air con units positioned on it. As we had a room without air con this felt like an abolute insult. The room also failed to have a safe...I honestly can not remember the last time I stopped in a hotel room without a safe.
Finally breakfast...without a doubt the worst hotel breakfast I have had. Both the choice and quality were dreadful.
By the 2nd day here of our 3 day stay we were looking at finding an alternative hotel for our 3rd night. It was a very depressing place to stop and should be avoided at all costs. We stopped in 6 different hotels in our holiday across Canada and this was the worst one we stopped in (and it's not even close).

Excellent location for homalco tours, downtown and heritage pier.
Pros:

Location next to Homalco tours departure point.
An earring was left in the room and cleaning staff handed it in, I was able to retrieve it later in the day. Thank you housekeeping staff for your diligence and honesty.
Reception staff were very helpful.

Cons:

Seemed tarnished. Needs modernisation.
Bathroom didn’t provide flannels.
