Good

Bad location, quite rough. The room is nice, but too many windows, making it cold and extremely noisy. On Fridays and Saturdays, there are drums until 3am, and drunk people screaming until 6am, making it impossible to sleep. The people at the reception couldn't even be bothered to talk. A Chinese guest was watching extremely loud "funny" videos during breakfast, I asked a member of staff to speak to the guest, and they refused it. Were were going to leave our luggage there and pick it up later, but we didn't feel like they were people of trust.

Wonderful hotel in the he heart of El Centro. Near everything.

Amazing staff extremely reliable and clean room. Very helpful in accommodations for our toddler.

This hotel is a great value. Decent location, but the immediate area is a bit dirty. Close to good dining options. The staff are friendly and the service is very good

It was my second stay after a few years, and the hotel is still kept as new.

A fabulous stay and have good view overlooking the sea. Also property was in a central location. The breakfast provided was of good variety.

Smart Hotel offers some of the best amenities and services that I have experienced in my travels. The king-sized bed was quite comfortable. Rooms have a small refrigerator and sink, and there is plenty of closet space (plus a strong box so you can lock up your passport, laptop, etc.) The hotel is centrally located in Montevideo’s historical downtown, with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance to enjoy). Most importantly, Smart Hotel has a very professional and efficient staff, from the managers to the lobby attendants to the restaurant and cleaning staff. I highly recommend this hotel. In fact, I’m headed back there in early April.

All ok, good price, location it depends

Location in run down area but close to Independence Plaza where bus services stop.
The room we had was on the 10th floor and suffered from the noise the lifts make at all hours. We were offered a room change but couldn't face packing and unpacking again.
Staff were helpful and friendly.
I asked for a bill and it was emailed to me. I couldn't view one of the files and the one I could read was simply a sum total and no breakdown therefore not much use.
The bed was comfortable but not so the pillows. One very soft the other hard...

We traveled from California to Montevideo, Uruguay. It was a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend this hotel. The food service was excellent with lots of tasty meal options. The staff was friendly and accommodated our needs. This location is close to mercado del puerto which has many restaurants and souvenir shops.

I was pleased with my 5-night stay at Smart Hotel. The staff at the front desk, the restaurant, and housekeeping were friendly and helpful.
The location is excellent for visiting the Ciudad Vieja, and accessing public transportation.

Fairly modern city centre hotel. We opted for a superior room which was spacious with kitchenette and sitting area. Bathroom had walk in shower. Bed was comfy.

Breakfast buffet was decent but you have to book a time when they are busy as the dining area is small. Ate dinner there too but only average.

Staff for most part are young and helpful, although was irritated to find our room had not been cleaned when we returned after a busy day at 17.30. Someone was sent up pretty quickly but then we had to vacate our room for another 30 mins and there was no apology.

Was pleased to find a small but well equipped gym.

One thing to note is that the hotel is on a fairly busy road. We were allocated a room on the first floor and it was quite noisy so may be best to request a room on a high floor.
