Hotel Arenas en Punta Leona

We are long time patrons of Punta Leona and were impressed with

The hotel is next to a mini market and POPs ice cream store. It also walking distance from playas mantas. The pool is large and nice. The restaurant is mediocre at best. Unfortunately, there are no other options for food, other than the hotel restaurant and maybe one more place. We had to drive to the main road in order to get other restaurant choices.

100% recommended considering the price-to-service ratio. Comfortable and pleasant rooms, excellent food, and exceptional reception service. The only drawback is the distance from the beach, but overall, it wasn't necessary.

The hotel is pretty nice, desk front service very friendly. Breakfast is very vary and you have different choices to choose from. I do think it will be nice to do more activities , in the pool, with the kids, maybe at night.

Friendly staff, clean and close to San Jose

After an 8 hour journey to this hotel due to weather/ landslides/ cancelled trips to National parks, and no holiday Rep (informed prior to travelling tour rep would be available- discovered on departure home not offered if tour group is too small ) . I especially wanted to give a shout out to Rodriquez (bar staff) for his warm welcome, and patience in explaining everything in English, the entertainment was excellent and inspired me to learn salsa. Also David, on reception who offered reassurance during a very stressful situation, and driver who took us to the next hotel, thankyou for spotting wildlife along the journey and making what should have been a holiday of a lifetime memorable.

Although the stay at the hotel was short- a couple of nights in an apartment, it was spacious , clean, with a spectacular pool. Enjoyed the food, and only a short walk to the beach where we saw monkeys for the first time! . Met a Costa Rican family staying at the hotel who were the loveliest, friendliest people. Would love to return. Pura Vida!

1. Cold shower with no hot water for 5 out of 6 nights. This was horrible and other business colleagues experienced the same problem.
2. There was mold/mould on the wall. A proper clean would fix this.
3. This hotel was 600m from the main food and pool area and you either had to wait for the transport or walk in the humid heat along a busy street.
4. Pool was not clear and was run down.
5. The bathrooms and rooms were poor, aged and run down
6. There was no power at the room desk and you had to run power from a wall on the opposite side of the wall. Very inconvenient.

Decent for the price in the area.

THIS HOTEL IS SCAM ADVERTISING.! Do not fall for it Be aware. The hotel Does NOT have access to thewhite and most beautiful beach in the punta Leona property. We never stsyed at it as we were humiliated disrespect we by 2 of security guards on punta leona beach as we got there and were humiliated by not weAring Punta leona hotel bracelets thats the only has the access to this beach onnpunta leona property. We were with 2 kids 10 yo and the guard on punta leona beach harrased us for not having bracelets from punta leona hotel but having non acess allowed from.this hotel. They did not refubd us till then and we NEVER stayed at this hotel as per what happened on the beach that day, as I managed the same day to book punta leona hotel with its beach access. Do nNOT fall for this scam hotel advertising! Stay aware. The guard on punta leone beach offered us to walk 15 miles on the ocean back to thus hotel since he was humiliating us in front of our crying 2 kids and didnt allow us to even take thr bus back to this hotel....kids born in CR, spoke perfect Spanish and we did too. It never helped us to get a refund from this hotel as Expedia said the hotel never answered thrm what happened. Please DO NOT BOOK this place . Scam.

Mattress are old and lots of metal springs making hard to sleep. Breakfast was great and entertainment staff keep a good mood during the day.

The entrance to the hotel was awful, they should advise the person to enter Pinta Leona which is a better street offered only after check out.
The pool bar does not have the menu visible has tv screens that are never on and the music is turn off too early.
At the desk a woman mention the pool closing at 3 on Sundays if that is true they should inform that.
From the parking lot theres only 2 entries to the hotel forcing people to take a long walk carrying luggage
The room had a lamp about to fall off hanging by one nail and the paint of the wall was peeling off.
Had coffee available only for day 1 , were in Costa Rica had to ask of they would do the favor of giving some bags of coffee for day 2.

I like the family friendly setting and the conveniance of the small supermarket up the block

Many things wrongs. The layout sucks, broken elevator, poor directions inside the complex very easy to get lost. Not enough lights in the pool area once it gets dark…. Infestation of mosquitoes!!! Good resultant good prices, good food/breakfast, good staff. Nice pool. Bring mosquito repellent.

Hoye Arenas does not longer have an agreement with Punta Leona which means the only beach access is now Playa Mantas and you have to either pay the regular parking if you get any spot cause is pack during weekends or walk there from the hotel as is no longer offering transportation. Really Arenas just provides the pool and sells a closer location to the beach but no beach access at all. I’m not sure I’ll go back as least not during high season

We were looking for an all inclusive ( I guess this doesn’t mean food and drinks!) When looking at photos make sure you look up HOTEL ARENAS don’t go to club that we did because it’s the nicer one. This hotel took the photos from the hotel down the street and used them as yours. Paid way more than booking another report. The only nice thing about the hotel was the pool. Drinks and bar food were ok. Do not eat on site for $35 USD because the foods a joke. Showers don’t work, bedding was hard as cardboard! Stay away from this place! I never write reviews and this is how bad this place is!! Key words FALSE ADVERTISING!

Agradable estadía, habitación impecable en limpieza y orden. Mucho ruido durante el día en la piscina que entra a las habitaciones. El desayuno es promedio.
