Pros:

Staff was very friendly.

Cons:

The rooms seem a little old. The same goes for the chairs, sun shade by the beach. There are locals wanting to sell stuff, just outside the hotel, which are very approaching.

Pros:

Really nothing at the hotel, but the beach view and location is spectacular. But this is about the hotel, which is overpriced compared to what I saw in the preceding 10 days in Sri Lanka, and has not seen any investment recently. The common areas, lifts, bathroom etc all need redoing to be worthy of the star rating and price.

Cons:

See above re the very poor state of everything. There was no alcohol license, which of course was not mentioned on the site and the staff did not seem to understand if there were any light snacks when arriving early afternoon. Really not worth the money, albeit that the location on the beach and the state of the beach is superb.

Amazing stay at Shinagwa Beach Hotel
Pros:

The hotel was situated on a fabulous beach, the view from our room was utterly amazing. The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay a great experience, the food was of a very high standard, and as everyone in previous reviews commented on the head cocktail barman - we totally agree that he was exceptional. I would like to thank all of the staff for such a wonderful stay - we loved it.

Pros:

Gyönyörű környezetben, valóban vízparti, a kilátás a szobákból fantasztikus. A személyzet kedves, az ételek jók. A strand nyugalmas, az óceán itt úszásra alkalmas. Nagyon elégedettek voltunk mindennel.

Bejelentkezéskor figyelmes fogadtatás. Jól felszerelt szoba. Gyönyörű kilátás. Minőségi reggeli.

A fürdőszoba mindig nedves és az ajtaja szörnyű. Sok a szúnyog.

Pros:

The good things about this property: Incredible beach view and access, the pool, the gym, the room was great, and the breakfast.

Cons:

Dinner options were limited. And, it is located in Balpitiya which is a sleepy small town.

We booked one double & two triples with B'fast for my family of 8 pax on a weekday one night
Pros:

The hotel is on the beach.Mesmerising ocean views from the rooms. The b'fast is somewhat ok with the crowd.Not much varities.But manageable.

Cons:

There is no outside restaurants near to the hotel. So the only food option is the hotel.

Beach was absolutely stunning and clean.

Welcome drink is average
Some toiletries were missing from the washroom even though they were listed on the checklist. We had to call room service to request items like slippers and moisturizer.
