Friendly and helpful reception staff. Mr Din and Mr.Ram are both cheerful and helpful.

No issue with the service but the room size is very very small. Location is also aloof and everything around closes by 8.30 pm. Better options available.

I really enjoyed my stay here with my family and would like to thank service staff person Cyril for helping us had a great experience staying here! He is very kind and helpful as he assisted us on our many luggages to our Grab Car even though it was many and quite heavy, very thoughtful of him and a big thank you his help. Rooms are also very clean and in order and really like the design of it that me and my family enjoyed our stay! Thank you.

Hotel was great, and very much appreciated the service and assistance from the friendly Mr Ram. Hotel is also very conveniently located.

Located quite close to a shopping mall with a good choice of cafes and eateries, and within walking distance (under 4 km) to the SUSS University which was the destination during my stay. It is farther away from the city centre, but as the MRT station is close (5 min walk), it was easy to travel also there. The hotel staff was friendly. The room was spacious and well equipped. Clean and silent through the night. Did not have breakfast included, so have no experiences regarding the food. The hotel also has an ok equipped gym, and there is a small pool (which I did not have time to use).

Good location and accessibility, close to MRT within 5 min walk, with a nearby Star Vista shopping centre.

The room is well decorated and clean. Wifi is stable. The pool is self-opearted and access by the room key card.

Overall, I like the location that is not a tourist place like Orchard. If you like tranquility and yet with good accessibility, it's a good choice.

Excellente and very helpful Service Person from the counter name Mr. Cyril, he helped us and my family assist on our bags storing them and later sending them to our Taxi! Really friendly and nice person as even though was kinda busy for him he still assisted us on this. A very big kudos to him, as he was also the one that checked us in and even though we came a bit early he still tried his best to find room for us as I understand that the checking in time is at 3pm and we were able to checking in at 2pm. Overall, me and my family enjoyed our stay here and the hotel is really nice and comfortable to relax at. Thank you!

Great value, professional staff, and clean floors where I let my baby crawl on the floor with no qualms. The easiest way to check cleanliness of a hotel is to check the hot water kettle, and this was spotless. Location next to Star Vista mall is also a big plus convenience for groceries, restaurants, entertainment. Big thank you to team, and we will be back

This hotel is advertised as a 4-star property, but based on our experience, the service wasn’t even deserving of 1 star.

Our stay got off to a poor start during check-in. The lady at the reception was rude, unfriendly, and made us feel completely unwelcome. While I was showing my booking confirmation on my phone, she suddenly tried to take my phone from my hand, saying she wanted to bring it inside to show her manager. I found this very inappropriate. A guest’s personal phone should not be taken away without permission, especially when the booking details can simply be viewed at the counter. A hotel claiming to be 4-star should at least provide courteous, respectful, and professional customer service.

Another disappointment was that the hotel does not provide complimentary parking for in-house guests. Instead, guests are required to purchase a flat-rate parking coupon. While this may be the hotel’s policy, it is disappointing for a hotel that markets itself as a 4-star property, as many hotels in this category provide complimentary parking for staying guests.

To make matters worse, when we tried to leave the car park, the parking coupon would not scan at the exit barrier. We contacted the staff through the intercom for assistance, but instead of trying to understand the issue, the staff repeatedly told us to “scan it properly.” After several unsuccessful attempts, I requested that someone come over to assist us in person. The staff sounded impatient and eventually opened the barrier remotely without sending anyone to help or apologizing for the inconvenience. Immediately after doing so, she cut off the call without saying a word. While we were eventually able to leave, the entire interaction reflected very poor customer service and lack of professionalism.

Another issue was that there was no hair dryer in our room. We contacted reception to request one, but instead of apologizing or checking the room, the staff repeatedly insisted that it “should be in the wardrobe.” We had already checked the wardrobe several times, and there was definitely no hair dryer. Even when the housekeeping staff eventually brought us a hair dryer, they still insisted that one had been inside the wardrobe all along. There was no acknowledgment that it might have been overlooked during room preparation and no apology for the inconvenience. Instead, it felt as though they were trying to shift the blame onto us, implying that we hadn’t checked properly or that the missing hair dryer was somehow our responsibility.

The checkout experience was just as disappointing. When we approached the reception to inform them we were checking out, the male staff member didn’t even look at us or acknowledge our presence. He simply grabbed our room key in a rude manner and continued doing his work without saying a word. No greeting, no “thank you,” no “have a nice day”—nothing. It was disrespectful and left a terrible final impression.

Overall, the front desk staff’s attitude and lack of professionalism completely overshadowed our stay. While the hotel advertises itself as a 4-star property, the service we received was nowhere near that standard—in fact, it wasn’t even deserving of 1-star service. Throughout our stay, it seemed that staff were more focused on dismissing concerns than assisting guests. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously, improves staff training, and focuses on delivering the level of hospitality expected of a 4-star hotel. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not return or recommend this hotel.

The team at the Park Avenue Rochester were incredibly hospitable. Notably Alvin who assisted us with a room change - no questions asked. He ensured our stay was comfortable and was a great asset to the hotel team.

A wonderful (short) stay that was accompanied by free tickets for Sentosa Island attractions offered complimentary by the hotel at check in.
