From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Perfectly acceptable but with a few tweaks could be so much nicer

Cons:

Executive lounge offerings
Only alcohol was red and white wine both of which were dreadful . The white was more like a sherry !
Front desk staff never smiled and were unwelcoming
Breakfast staff were much friendlier

Pleasant enough but may try other hotels in Ipoh next time when in Ipoh.
Pros:

Booked a big room and 2 smaller ones. The big room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast had good variety but would have preferred if booking.com offered non-breakfast options during booking. The location was close to many eating places in Ipoh and we would have liked to try local specialities than having breakfast in the hotel on daily basis.

Cons:

The check out process was a huge pain. They misplaced documents and their system did not seem to have the records as well - paid deposit during check-in, but they could not trace proof of payment made. Staff, maybe new, did not seem to be competent and/or efficient. Took a long while for them to sort things out. They finally found the manual paperwork in one of the drawers in the counter - surprised at the lack of proper filing system and digital data retention for a 5-star hotel like Weil.

Pleasant and Convenient Stay
Pros:

Very pleasant stay. Had an issue with a neighboring room smoking but the hotel addressed it immediately by first neutralizing the smell and upon request moved us to another room . Food was good and location conviently connected to the mall. Pool looks really nice.

The aircond in the room was not cold at all even when the temperature was at 17 degrees. Need to fix that.

Despite paying for breakfast for the period of stay, I did not eat there because the crowd is huge and the queue is just too long. Also not sure even if I queue whether the enough food is available.
