From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at ease. On check-in for our 5-night stay, we were upgraded to an apartment, which afforded us some extra space and a small kitchen. The rooms and common areas were clean and thoughtfully designed and a small rooftop patio provides expansive views over the city, but the truth is...Berlin is at your doorstep. You're only steps away from trams and trains that bring the whole city with in reach, and the neighborhood is a buzz with diverse eateries, shops and unique experiences. Take the M1 up to the PraterGarten or down to Hackescher Markt and lose yourself in the courtyards of the höfes. My wife and i are avid travelers, and the Circus Hotel is a place we could return to time and again.

Clean room and very friendly staff. It felt like a full-service boutique hotel that was nice to call home for a week. They have their own ap which was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants/attractions etc.and the staff helped book tickets and reservations for us.

Loud, no AC, and lacks basic TV in room

We were booked into room 107 and the moment we opened the door we were immediately disappointed as it was facing the street and was extremely noisy and small. The room had a smart tv that had no access to the internet and had no English language channels (CNN or BBC). In fact the tv had mostly German shopping channels like QVC times seven. I had friends in the same building who had a tv with YouTube and CNN and BBC but apparently our TV lacked these options. I asked for assistance and the staff discovered that room 107 had a tv without basic options found in other rooms in the hotel. I was offered no formal compensation. The hotels also lacks AC. It has a nice back patio and top level space outdoors but one server tried to shortchange me by nearly 20 euros on the bill which left a bad impression.

Pros:

Though the Hotels.com page states the rooms are air-conditioned, this is false. There is a poor water cooling system that does not do anything—not recommended during hot weather conditions.

This was our first time visiting in Berlin during a vacation. we chose this hotel as it was recommended by a friend and it seemed central. once we checked in, we found out there is no air
conditioning in the rooms. the web site says there is ac but once you get there they say its chilled water pipes in the walls however this never worked. this would not have been problematic if we could leave our windows open but this was impossible since the trams are running right in front and there are several restaurants nearby so very noisy. i had to sleep with the windows closed and earplugs. plus the matress was very soft so sleeping comfortably was a problem. the tv had only 1 working non german channel….we were there 4 days and by the third i was itching to leave. this hotel is better suited for the 20 to 30 yr old crowd that might not mind all the action around the place. Berlin though is a very exciting city and worth a visit!

Wonderful staff. Excellent breakfasts. Enjoyed use of the nearby gym. The staff was responsive to all our requests. We have stayed at the Circus Hotel twice now and will stay there again in the future!

The property is in a lively area with excellent transport links. Unfortunately, no air conditioning. A fan is provided but rooms felt stuffy. In hot weather room would be very uncomfortable.
