Pros:

Beautiful location

Cons:

Travelled from Spain. Arrived just after lunch had finished.
I asked if there was a chance of a sandwich, I was told it was not possible and that evening meals started at 6.

We decided we would wait, asked for the menu around 5.40, only to be told." We do not serve meals on a Monday."

I found that unacceptable to be evening meals are served from 6, then after waiting 3 hour's to be told no we don't serve on Monday's.

A hotel with residents, no evening meals served. This should be identified prior.

There was a kettle in the room and two cups. No coffee, no tea bags etc.

Called down using the number, no answer, had to go to reception. The young man was helpful and got me some.

Following day, exactly the same, no coffee, milk, etc, and the same the 3rd day.

Very disappointed that they did not automatically provide this, without having to keep going to reception and ask them for some.

Not worth the money we paid, locals call the hotel FAWLTY TOWERS.
Pros:

Drinks were ok.

Cons:

Food was non existent due to short staffing. No hot water in the shower, most of the staff were not helpful, room very hot with only a very small window. Fan supplied was on a 2 hour timer. If you soiled the bed linen at all you would be charged £100, never seen this before in any other hotel etc.

Pros:

Clean and comfortable.

Cons:

We were told the bar would be open until 10:30. When we arrived back at 9:00 it was shut. If you stay at a pub, you expect the bar to be open in the evening!

Awful
Pros:

The two members of staff were brilliant trying to sort the problem

Cons:

Hotel.was seriously understaffed.
Actual bed wasn't a bed ???? Base disguised with a fitted.sheet ???
The hot water in the shower was scalding hot with no control.over the temperature. Very dangerous ! The staff.tried.sorting it. Tried to upgrade me which the manager was support sort but he basically ran off ! Tried.to get a refund...no money in the account. Complete.nightmare. Left.and.slept on a friends couch. Completely hideous experience. Felt so sorry for the.staff trying to sort things

Family break
Pros:

Great location as a stop off fir Cardiff

Cons:

I called (after trying 5 times at various times during the day) a few days before to confirm the sleeping arrangements for my 3year old grandson, I was told it was all sorted and it was on the system, when we arrived they didn't seem to know anything about it. It was quickly sorted but the communication needs reviewing and im sure they must lose business by not answering the phone.
The hotel is cosy but needs a bit of attention/updating.

An unexpected pleasure of a pitstop. The (very young) team was a credit to the management.
Pros:

Superb staff, no exceptions: smart, friendly, helpful, couldn't have asked for better.
Dinner was much better than we could possibly have expected for an out of the way country pub, the range was excellent and the food was consistently good. Breakfast was spot on. The property was of course a little tired but spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the main lounge and restaurant were very nice.

Cons:

The corridors in the upper parts of the main building smelt of stale tobacco. Need to deal with that pronto!
