Ocean House Hotel at Bass Rocks

For the price of these rooms in the summer, they should have the towels they promise they will have for you at the pool. It's not like you get a beach or a 5 star room. It's a decent room with a nice view. But, don't expect a towel at the pool!

Lovely location. The room was clean and well appointed. We stayed in 222 and the balcony was perfect. The bathroom is a bit small but doable. The grounds and pool are well kept. The continental breakfast has hard boiled eggs, yogurt and stuffed croissants which is a addition. You can walk to a lovely beach. Bring your beach chairs and towels though

Our stay was amazing. The views were great, our room was perfect, and a great location. I would highly recommend! Our breakfast was good and we loved being at the pool and hot tub. It’s only a short walk to good harbor beach so you can avoid paying parking fees.

Beautiful property in a perfect location.

I was in town on business and only stayed one night. The room was cozy and comfortable. The access to the rocky shore was lovely - sunset and sunrise. The pool was a very nice start to my morning. The continental breakfast was perfect. I got early breakfast and then second breakfast!

Location, location, location! Beautiful and accessible to the rocky beach. Second floor balcony was very nice. Friendly and helpful staff.

I wish so very much I could write a good review, but I cannot. My husband and I couldn't wait to come here. We had also reserved a tour for the tall ships, but I became quite ill and had to change our reservations, which- stated cancellations accepted - please question that. Once they changed our cancellation to different date, bc we still hoped to go, they put on a non-refundable $1400 charge - NEVER explained to my husband on the phone. As it turns out, I have chlorine poisoning and am still sick after 2 weeks and could not come. They REFUSED to refund us. We even asked to be charged just one night fee, and they refused that. They are at this point still charging us $1400. We are a retired couple on a retirement budget, but wanted to splurge for America's 250 and the tall ships. I could not help I got sick. We even asked if they could hold the money on the side so we could come at a later date when I am better and they refused that. What would be the harm in that? They are cold and uncaring people. Adding, that my husband NEVER knew they charged that amt on his cc. He would NEVER have agreed to that. These are unkind, uncaring people. Be very careful dealing with them and very sure of your plans. There is more to a hotel than just the room and surroundings. It is the people that run it that makes you feel warm and welcome. They are not this. We are still hoping to get a refund. Noone has this amt to lose. We cancelled 6 other places and events - without an issue from anyone else. Everyone else understood. Do not go here.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. This is my second time visiting. The location is amazing, The pool area is delightful, We sat around the fire pit at night, The staff was incredible, Our room was comfortable. I had all the amenities we needed. Hope to make this a yearly visit
