Aquarius Gay Guesthouse & Sauna

It was my first time staying at a Gay Guesthouse and it was great. Golf staff member was excellent, he made our trip special by helping us with travel arrangements and history of the Phuket. Especially at breakfast he made each meal to our request. I must say he's the star at Aquarius. He really knows how to make guest feel welcome.

Central location but relatively quiet give it is middle of gay nightlife area. Nothing fancy but facilities adequate.

Room was basic but more than adequate for my four nights stay. Everything worked as ot should do. Rooms were cleaned and fresh towels and water were delivered daily unless you wanted otherwise. Chart and his team were very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay again

Value for money. Rooms very basic. Good breakfast. Close to everything.

Our stay was very enjoyable, we felt like part of the family. They made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond. I was looking for matches for my brother who collects them and couldn’t find them anywhere, I asked Paul where I could get them and he said he didn’t know but he could order them online for me and he did, 3 days later I had them. This was awesome service. We will definitely be back.

Horrible place and experience! Stay away! WiFi is unreliable. Water pressure is bipolar.

I was originally in room 307 and early evening I heard a loud sound come from the air conditioner then the smell of burning, it then stopped working, went down to front desk and they moved me to room 207 which was smaller, had sewage smell coming from the bathroom and bed was hard as a rock but I dealt with it. Came back from a night out and the air conditioner wasn’t blowing cold air and it was 80 some degrees and of course they don’t have anyone at the front desk at night time and with no number posted on who to call or contact so I was stuck sweating and not being able to sleep from the heat and had to wait until 8am when someone was finally downstairs. After I told him he didn’t even bother to come upstairs or even make it a priority, half an hour later I went back downstairs and asked to checkout early from my reservation and he was like you can checkout but we won’t give you a refund. Even after the experience I had been having, they were forcing me to lose my money I paid for the remainder of my reservation or once again move rooms. Guy obviously didn’t want to lose the money as they were only 50% at capacity during busy season. He even made it sound suspicious about my rooms saying they never had problems before, which by the condition this hotel is in I doubt it, it is completely rundown.

I moved to 308 next which smelled like dust and wet cement. Also be aware that your reservation doesn’t include use of the gym or sauna unless you specifically look for that option when booking, had I known I wouldn’t have booked here. Cheaper and nicer hotels in the area than the price this place charges that doesn’t include anything! It is old and not maintained. Bar downstairs gets a tiny crowd (1-3 people) of just people of a late mature age, only young person is the bartender. Never had a drink there as it did not appeal to me nor did I want to give this place a single dollar more of my money which is also why I didn’t visit the sauna, but a friend told me he went during peak hours and it had like 6 people inside.

It’s also hard to find as it’s down the alley of a plaza.

Save yourselves the headache and book elsewhere.

The property to located 1 block from the "fun" bars!! There was entertainment every night, beginning at 10:00. I will stay there again on my return to Phuket.

Poorly maintained, unless in superior suites. Staff friendly, limited english.

Apartment suite was comfortable and big. Bed mattress not the most comfortable, a bit too firm for me. Good breakfast although limited choice to either full American type breakfast or Thai. Both were great though. Housekeeping service was good, my room was clened daily, 2 bottles of water added daily.

Discreetness upon entry/exit into premises and also location of dining area/bar area not great as this is located righr within the paradise plaza so something to bear in mind if you want a bit of discretion.

Wifi not the best unfortunately, my signal kept dropping especially in the room despite having access to both 2.4 and 5g wifi.

Unfortunately stairs may be difficult to climb if unfit or have arthritis.

Sauna area may benefit from having some lights even if a bit dimm as i found it difficult to navigate whilst inside.

My taxis had difficulty in dropping or fetching me from the guesthouse as there is no direct drop off point at the guesthouse bevause of its location within the passage of the paradise plaza so as a result i often had to use the name of an adjacent hotel whose entrance was opposite the paradise plaza, in order to get to my transport vehicles for tours/transfers.

Date of stay 6 November till 9th November, had booked till 12th but checked out early due to changes in work schedule and change of flight bookings.

As a return visitor, I'm always satisfied with my stay over here. The room was immaculately clean, in fact the entire hotel is always very well maintained. Situated near all bars, clubs, restaurants, shops etc. ideal for enjoying the nightlife.

Excellent value for money in a centrally located location. With professional and helpful staff. Rooms always very clean. Nice breakfast.

We wanted a centrally located hotel with character near all facilities. Our rooms were a good size with en suite shower room. Rooms were immaculately clean with daily cleaning done to perfection. Generous American breakfast, with refills. Hotel is within Paradise PLAZA. The bar is relaxing and friendly. The staff were consistently professional, attentive and helpful. Near all shops, restaurants and nightlife, with a 10 minute walk to the beach.
