Very attractive building just outside Lyndhurst. Comfortable bed
Our room was very small as was the bathroom and the overall appearance of the decor is somewhat tired. I felt that £170 for the room without breakfast was a bit expensive
Location
Nothing
Staff very friendly, especially in the breakfast room. They helped my 8 year old grandson do a surprise birthday for me. Much appreciated.
Very good continental breakfast with a good choice of cereals, fruit, ham, cheese, boiled eggs and pastries etc (I can recommend the pains chocolat)
Nice swimming pool and changing room facilities.
The evening menu is short but the food was good.
Comfortable lounges and bar, with an outside terrace
Plenty of parking available.
A short walk into Lyndhurst (10 minutes) and a nice pub 200m
The hotel welcomes children and dogs and feels very comfortable in a slightly old fashioned way - no Scandi-chic here, but that makes it more relaxing.
Paid £250 for a room and breakfast. When we had breakfast it was only for continental and the choice wasn't good atall. None of the kids ate.
The room was very run down and small. Didn't expect that for £250 for one night. Bed was hard. Swimming pool was feezing so my kids didnt get in. Very run down inside. Disappointed
The outside was clean and tidy
The location is excellent as you can easily walk into Lyndhurst centre.
We had a family room and it was absolutely below standard. The furniture and bathroom need complete renovation, cleanliness was below standard and the children’s beds were very small (ok for toddlers).
When we asked reception for options (move rooms or checkout early) they were less than helpful! The manager sitting in the backroom was consulted and could not even be bothered to come out and talk to us. In the end we transferred our booking to another hotel in the same group, but had to sort it all out ourselves.
Swimming pool not clean and also needs complete renovation.
Absolutely would not recommend this hotel!
The pool was amazing - really good for a small hotel pool. Not bad in terms of cleanliness, size, and not very busy
The rooms were stuffy and too hot. I would have expected air conditioning at this price. The staff were friendly, but didn't take any notice of my stated food allergy - I had told them at booking, at check in, and again at the breakfast entry point, but they still didn't tell me the allergy content of the food that day, and didn't know the ingredients of the relevant breakfast items when questioned (they had found this out by the second day).
Location was good.
Very dated rooms, damp carpet around bathroom. Room 6. Smell of old damp carpet.
Great pool, bar, breakfast, staff, location
If I’m being picky I’d have liked more plug sockets
La piscine. L'emplacement
Le breakfast était très cher et peu savoureux.
The staff were very good, room was clean and location is fab,
Not enough milk for tea but other than it was all good,
Staff, without exception, were friendly and very helpful. dining room for breakfast was good plenty of space and coffee. Room was comfortable. Plenty of car parking space.
The room was a little tired" especially the bathroom. the main bedroom was comfortable with plenty of drawer and hanging space but needed a "spruce up". Food was excellent, however, the continental breakfast was disappointing, no bread rolls and no salad type food to go with the ham and cheese. Only one plain yoghurt, no choice of flavoured yoghurts. The evening meal was good and service was quick BUT the choice was a bit limited for a 4* hotel.
Excellent location
Gutes Bett, Pool, Frühstück, Parkplatz, ruhige Lage (zum Schlafen), Essenstipp: „White Rabbit“ schräg gegenüber, Paultons Park 15 Minuten Autofahrt
Etwas angestaubt, Bad renovierungsbedürftig, keine kalten Getränke an der Bar
Excellent breakfast with superb service
Over and above Dog friendly.
Staff were warm, obliging and welcoming.
Nothing to speak of!
Well positioned
Not as clean as I would like
