Chongfah Resort

Our first time staying in this area of Khao Lak and it will be our last. The town has lots of bars and restaurants but it’s a bit too busy and commercialised for our liking. We prefer the other end of Khao Lak. The hotel is nice, rooms a bit dated but comfortable enough, lovely pool and breakfast is excellent. However the beachfront area is poor and there’s no direct access to the beach at all. Tides mean you sometimes have to walk along the road which is not great just to get on the beach and have a swim. We wouldn’t stay here again, there’s better resorts for the money charged.

Our two-weeks stay at Chongfah Beach Resort was fantastic. The staff were absolutely superb: front desk ( JAAE), restaurant, chambermaids (KIEV) and all the support staff.
The accommodation was wounderful ( I love my hammock) The food and drinks were great. The view from the restaurant is one of the best you can imagine. The beach is so clean with warm, turquoise water. Perfect to swim.
The location is great just a few minutes from Bang Niang Night Market and thousands of good places to eat and drink. There is a useful 7-11 convenience store.
We truly love this nice relaxing hotel with a touch of the Thai culture and would highly recommend. We will return 100%. See you next year Chongfah Beach Resort!!!

The staff is absolutely fantastic.
The food is just as amazing.
You start to relax from day one.
Fourth year in a row — and there will be many more!

We kept our promise from last year to return soon again, and so we did.
This time we had ”only” booked a Deluxe Double room (last year we had the Beachfront Bungalow) but the room did not disappoint - spacious and beautiful, with everything you need, very comfortable beds (firm) and lovely outdoor space.
Housekeeping does a fantastic job keeping up with all the rooms and guests, taking care of the room two times every day.
The restaurant personel is super attentive and always at your service.
Breakfast is lovely with eggstation, fresh fruit and juices, local Thai dishes as well and lots of other things to chose from. And really great coffee!
Reception is also extremely helpful with anything you may need. We always book our airport transfer with the hotel and it has worked perfectly and at a very reasonable cost as well.

We have already booked our return again for next year, but now we are bringing the rest of he family as well, so they can fall in love with this lovely place as much as we have!
Can’t wait - See you soon again!

This Hotel has the best staff and the best service we have ever experienced. The room service is gorgeous and the seaborn restaurant provides a great breakfast every day.

A lovely and regenerating time can be had in Chongfah. The staff pays much attention to details to make the stay as comfortable as possible.
They are very friendly and it feels like being part of a bigger family.

Fantastic small, boutique hotel with beautiful views over the ocean. Perfect location to stay with oceanfront outlook.
Great quiet spot for breakfast, sunset or swimming in the lovely pool.
Conveniently located a short walk to small restaurants and shops.

Beautiful small resort on the seafront at Khao lak.
Ideal for couples and relaxing, although the Bang Niang market with its bars, restaurants and market stalls (4 days a week) is less than 10 minutes walk away.
We stayed for 8 days in one of their superb seaview villas which I can 100% recommend, although we stayed our final night in a standard deluxe room which was also first class. The difference is the magnificent view over the ocean and the private outside jacuzzi and shower, but these are nice to haves rather than absolutely necessary for a great holiday! The 30 or so rooms all have their private terraces with your own sunbeds and there is always plenty of room around the infinity pool should you want to meet the other guests. There is a small beach about 50 meters away if you want a dip in the sea, but I can recommend taking a tuk tuk from just outside the hotel, to one of the beaches to the north or south of Khao lak if you want a day relaxing on the beach. Coconut beach, for example, is about 15 minutes away.
The buffet breakfast is very good, as was their evening buffet (once a week) and their two course evening meal (which was included in our package) and their cocktail bar is first class. Don't miss Happy Hour and the magnificent sunset views.
Finally, the staff really made our stay. All of them, from the cleaning girls to the bar and restaurant staff to the hotel driver and especially the front office staff (thank you JA AE) were world class and couldn't do enough for us.

Another amazing stay at our favourite hotel and we’ve stayed in many hotels.
One of the main reasons we keep coming back here is because of the team that work there - they’re all so friendly, welcoming and can’t do enough for you.
The location is superb and the views are just stunning.
The Asian night is really good value and the food excellent.
The hotel is small which is good, in my opinion better than a big resort as it’s all very personal.

Another amazing stay in this wonderful hotel.once again we couldn’t fault anything here . The staff are amazing so friendly and will do everything to ensure a memorable stay. Stayed 18 nights only wish it could have longer. Will definitely return again.

A lovely boutique resort on the seafront. Spacious and comfortable rooms. well located, away from the busyness but within easy waking distance of shops, night market and restaurants. Infinity pool was great and always plenty of sun loungers to choose from. Particularly enjoyed happy hour cocktails whilst watching the stunning sunsets. It was my birthday during our stay and I was 'surprised' at breakfast with a specially decorated table, chocolate cake and a card together with a rendition of 'happy birthday' from all the staff which was a lovely gesture.

It’s the small details that make a place unforgettable - this resort truly beats all! The location both on the beach and near town yet quiet; the staff who treats you like family and goes the extra mile with a smile; the cleanliness with conscientiousness to the environment as their standard; the pure aesthetics of the rooms, the property and their food makes Chongfah my first choice for the next time I return to Khao Lak. Had a wonderful stay at the Chongfah beach resort, a fabulous 30 bedroom boutique hotel right on the beach.

We stayed in a garden bungalow which was well appointed with super comfy bed, sunbathing terrace, large rain shower bathroom and outside jacuzzi and shower.

Super breakfast each morning where you can eat overlooking the beach.

Hotel is super clean, quiet and well maintained. What truly made our stay special were the wonderful staff we met each and everyday. They really go the extra mile to make sure you have the best vacation.

The location is away from the main tourist locations but these are an easy 10 minute walk away with plenty of options for eating and shopping.

So many things to see and do here I highly recommend a visit to the Similan Islands and the National parks within the vicinity. We hired motorbikes for 3 days and were able to take off into the hills to explore.

Arriving in the pouring rain, I did wonder if I’d made a mistake with my choice but I couldn’t have been more wrong.

I’d done a lot of research beforehand to find hotels that suited us, and Chongfah turned out to be exactly what I’d hoped for.

Chongfah is a tiny boutique resort, only 30 rooms, which makes it wonderfully peaceful and quiet yet it is in walking distance of the town.

The location was perfect for us, opposite hotel we found laundry,massages, taxis and fresh fruit drinks.
Supermarket, shops and many restaurants just 10 minute walk.

We stayed in a sea-view bungalow which was lovely, with outside seating area and sun loungers facing the sea. Super comfy bed, quality linen and towels.
There’s a sea wall in front, so no direct beach access from the room, but a short walk along the property leads you to a small entrance to the beach when tide is low.

The resort has a lovely infinity pool, perfect for relaxing, the staff were superb, warm, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble.
We did bed & breakfast at Chongfah and ate at many local restaurants in town.

We had a fantastic 10 days here and would happily return.

Chongfah Beach Resort has much to recommend it. Small complex, large well-equipped rooms, great staff, along with a great range of bars and restaurants in easy walking distance. There are, however, a few misses. The resort promotes its environmental credentials yet asks guests to place soiled toilet paper in a bin rather than into the resort's waste management system. Apart from this being an uncomfortable experience, I can only assume the soiled paper is sent to landfill - hardly an environmentally friendly practice. It was disappointing, too, that there was no safe direct access to the beach at low tide (the only time the beach is accessible). The resort has an existing stairway to the beach, but the bottom five rungs are missing. Luckily there is easy beach access only a couple of hundred metres away.

Wow, what a stunning place with amazing greenery and wildlife in the walkways around the bungalows. The staff treated us like family and took us to their temple for a complimentary visit where we got to give offerings to the monks, what an experience. They also stored our bags free of charge when we went to Khao sok national park for a night before moving on with our travel. What an amazing resort full of lovely bungalow rooms, located perfectly for the night market, Thai boxing and the beach. And named after the beautiful Chongfah waterfall!

Loved my stay at this hotel.After a long flight and transfer from Phuket airport.The moment we walked in we felt relaxed and forgot all about our journey getting here.All the staff were amazing so friendly and nothing was a bother.Breakfast was good with a big selection and great coffee which is what I really needed in the morning.A short walk to town centre and night market.Hotel on beach front but unable to swim in front due to rock wall.But a short walk to nice sandy beach which I didn’t find a problem.

The staff were exceptional. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable. It was only a few minutes walk to local restaurants, bars and the night market.
