My friends and I stayed at this hotel with our dog. Overall, the experience was not entirely negative, but there were several significant issues that affected our stay.
To begin with, the weather was extremely hot, and we did enjoy the pool during our stay. The young receptionist was friendly and welcoming. In fact, most of the staff were polite and kind. We also appreciated that the hotel was dog-friendly—there was a water tap outside the building for dogs, and staff even gave them treats and a ball. There was also a small outdoor area where dogs could play, which was a nice touch.
The room did not have a refrigerator, which meant we had to walk a considerable distance downstairs every time we needed ice or water. The room was equipped with only a very small fan that barely circulated warm air. Our dogs were unable to sleep properly due to the lack of ventilation and difficulty breathing in the heat .There was no proper cooling system in the lobby or restaurant either. When we requested a fan during breakfast, we were told it was not possible. As a result, we had to carry our own room fan to the restaurant, which was extremely uncomfortable and inconvenient in such heat. Because the fan was so small, we had to use an extra chair from a nearby table, which led to a very rude reaction from one of the female staff members. This same staff member had ignored our greeting the previous day and behaved in an unwelcoming and dismissive manner, even pressing herself against the wall to avoid passing near us. This behavior was quite unpleasant and unprofessional. During the breakfast, They did not even open the windows. We opened it as we could not breathe, The inside of the window was covered in spider webs, which clearly indicates that it had not been properly cleaned for a long time.
Additionally, the reception was completely closed at night, which was inconvenient and made it difficult to get assistance when needed.
The breakfast was very basic and lacked variety, especially considering the price we paid. The fruits were unwashed and visibly dirty, with even cobwebs attached to the apricots, which is completely unacceptable.
Finally, the bed sheets were not changed during our stay—only the towels were replaced. In most reputable hotels, bed sheets are changed on a daily basis to ensure proper health and hygiene standards, making this oversight particularly unacceptabl
Everything was perfect
Nothing
It was very clean. Excellent for dogs. Best place we have stayed with our dogs. Very friendly
Pool area was fantastic as our dogs could stay with us.
Nothing it is amazing
Location - sea view
The entrance sign was mouldy which set the tone for our stay. Weeds and cobwebs in the entrance etc. Happy to give private feedback to the management.
Lovely view of the sea. Near the top of Shanklin Chine with free access from the hotel.
Excellent breakfast and dinner.
Our room in the extension was bland. White walls paintwork and bedding. No room for armchairs.
Because the main hotel was Victorian there were 23 steps
to the first floor. At 88 years I found it hard to ascend several times a day.
During the evening there was an absence of staff in the public areas of Luccombe Manor House Hotel.
South part of the Island is the best. On a hot sunny day Luccombe Hotel is the best location as you see the clear blue see and blue sky. The garden and swimming pools are amazing including your sauna and hot tubs
All good. Nothing negative
Location and the facilities and staff
Could have done with a bit more dusting in our room.
Friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfasts. Location.

Having to go next door for food.
Found out just before leaving that food could be brought to our pool area.
I was unaware until another guest told me.
When I asked about food I was told to go next door to the restaurant.
Can’t see sea from garden as hedges are very high
Excellent service. Outside facilities were clean and well looked after.
The food, the friendly staff, the facilities for dogs and the overall location And comfort provided.
Some troubles with the Wi-Fi.
Everything from the moment we arrived, friendly helpful staff, beautiful hotel, lovely gardens, plenty to do onsite. Dinner was excellent and breakfast selection was absolutely amazing with a fantastic choice. We especially enjoyed the huge choice of prepared fresh fruit, yogurt, seeds, cranberries, pastries etc. and plenty of choice on the cooked breakfast menu. We were travelling on our bikes and there was a place to wash your bike and a secure bike store.
Nothing
Lovely old style hotel, spacious room, in a good location with a 15 min walk to restaurants.
100% dog friendly hotel (if you don’t like dogs then maybe it’s not for you)
Room size and view from the room.... didnt get time to use pools etc unfortunately ans my daughter lived that it was dog friendly.
They was nothing not to like... needed another day on the island to enjoy.the.hotel more... all my fault haha
This is an old fashioned hotel - for dogs. Great if you want a holiday with your dog. We booked it as it was the only place available in the area for our coastal walk around the island. It wasn't made clear that there was no restaurant and we had to go to the sister hotel if we wanted dinner. We did and it was very nice. Because the hotel had not been refurbished since ???? there was actually a bath in the bathroom. As we were walking round the coastal path this was welcome.
Breakfast was ok and up to standard.
