Beautiful and relaxing
The Admiral’s Inn was an excellent stop in our Antiguan vacation. The property is exceptional and full of the island’s history. Other than the grounds crew getting early starts to their chores, the stay was quaint and quiet. The surrounding Nelson’s Dockyard area is awesome! Take the short hike to Fort Berkley for incredible views. We had a beautiful meal at the on site restaurant for our anniversary. Another night we walked the short distance to town for a local meal. Overall I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!
Stunning
Good points: Great location with bars and restaurants along the road. Loved being able to get the free boat to the main restaurant in the morning, and the ride to the beach. Service was fab. View from the room was lovely, perfect to watch the comings and goings of the boats. A particular highlight of my stay was a fantastic massage - well worth the extra cost.
Not so good points: As is the nature of the hotel, it's all a little dated, with features needing an update. Little things in the room showed lack of attention to detail, e.g. the shower pressure was rather weak, the hairdryer didn't work (though there was a spare!) and the alarm clock was set to the wrong time and would occasionally go off. Also the WiFi was intermittent, rather annoying when the main form of communication with the reception was through WhatsApp.
The hotel sits within the UNESCO world heritage site of Nelsons Dockyard which creates such unique experience being surrounded by history and the warm tropical climate one hopes to find. Admirals Inn was very welcoming and comfortable as if it were a home away from home.
Stunning, with a lot of history!
The Admiral’s Inn gives us a wraparound Antigua welcome! We’ve stayed there before but this time we were delayed and had missed our dinner reservation… but if it was a problem, the staff were still as charming as ever, the dinner was delicious and our room, number7, had been renovated to a high standard since our last trip.
All wonderful, thank you!
The staff were particularly helpful storing some provisions and carrying all luggage to nearby location for our boat rental.
Superb location - great service - charming rooms
The Admiral's Inn and Gunpowder Suites provided an unforgettable start to our honeymoon in Antigua. The customer service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. The property itself was charming and impeccably maintained, offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to begin our journey. Highly recommended!
An incredible property. So many restaurants and bars in walking distance. The 18th century buildings are amazing and so unique. The staff has been wonderful. They made our bad situation of being stuck without a flight for a few nights an adventure to remember. If we come back to Antigua this is exactly where we will go!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was very tasty too
Enjoyed my time and the staff was awesome!!
Just a great place to stay. Staff is so friendly and so attentive.
The property is lovely. The staff is very accommodating. I would recommend staying in the garden stuites. The restaurants are good and offer vegan options. The bartender Reggie offered delicious drinks and Shama the asst mgr arranged a changing room after we checked out in order to swim and have lunch while waiting for our next boat accommodations on another property a few hours later. I would stay again.
The online pictures don't do it justice to just how beautiful Admiral's Inn and Gunpowder Suites are. The buildings are late 1700's and early 1800's. It was such a cool step back in time! There are several (at least 15) places to walk to and get different foods (Italian, Carribean, Seafood and more). The best restaurant hands down was Pillars at Admiral's Inn. Lunch at Boom (Gunpowder suites pool) was good also. We stayed on the Gunpowder side for 4 nights. After two nights we asked to be moved to a pool view room. They accommodated us mid-day even though they would have to re-clean our current room. Thank you, Admiral's Inn. We will be back!
We had a lovely, relaxing time at the Admiral's Inn. We loved staying in the historic district! Thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the staff members, particularly Reggie behind the bar. What a personable and interesting man!
Ok
Food was great. Room was extremely comfortable. And everything was very clean.
I would say a big Thank you! to Shama(Mgr),Cecile,I believe her name is tamara. It wasn’t a pleasure trip, we were at a funeral and Shama, hospitality is on a different level. She checks in with me and my sister to see how everything is going. The staff is great! It starts with great leadership. Upgraded of the rooms is needed, I wish I can take Shama, with me to work in my company! Great job everyone!
