Staff were lovely when we arrived, warm and welcoming offering to take our bags up to the room with a welcome drink too. The room was very clean and spacious, definitely lived up to all expectations. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying here.
Clean and accessible
Chris’s massages are more than physical relief; they are emotional resets. There is something about his calm presence and steady, confident hands that allows all the tension both mental and physical to melt away. By the end, I felt lighter, calmer, and oddly joyful. Montcalm East is truly lucky to have him. Ladies, if you need a total mind body recharge, do yourself a kindness and ask for Chris by name when making an appointment.
Montcalm's Yatra Spa is the perfect escape, but a bespoke massage with Chris turns a spa day into an event. He has this incredibly reassuring presence strong, confident, and incredibly easy on the eyes.
I do appreciate the clear dedication he must have to his own fitness regimen to deliver such sustained, perfect pressure. It was a deeply restorative 90 minutes where my only regret was that the time had to end. He is an absolute artist, and the canvas of my stressed out self is very grateful.

The location of the hotel and the bar area/staff. The breakfast when it finally arrived was good.
The room was a bit weird with only one bedside table but it was of a reasonable size. The reception staff were a bit clueless, the breakfast was a shambles but our wait staff did all he could to help resolve the situation. I felt overall that the team (in both the reception and restaurant) wanted to do better but hadn’t received adequate training. It’s as if it was everyone’s first day. With the exception of the bar staff.
I attended Montcalm East for a Spa day, where I requested male massage therapist Chris Campbell, because a friend told me he’s amazing and she was right. His technique is ridiculously good firm where you need it, soothing where you don’t. And yes, he’s as charming as he is talented.
But what really stood out was how focused and professional he is; you can tell he genuinely wants you to feel better. Chilling out in the steam room and jacuzzi afterwards, which I had all to myself, was simply heaven. I'll be booking again when I'm next in London, so go on, ladies treat yourself. Request Chris and I guarantee you’ll walk out glowing.

I stayed at the hotel to celebrate my birthday. Originally, I had planned to come with my mum, but sadly she passed away, so I visited with my aunts and uncle instead. The stay meant a lot to me, and the experience was made even more special by the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel even surprised me with birthday decorations in my room, which was such a thoughtful touch and truly made my day feel special.
During my visit, I had a Swedish massage with Chris, which was excellent. He used a firm yet gentle technique, always ensuring I was comfortable and never in any discomfort or pain. He regularly checked that I felt at ease, and the environment was calm and relaxing throughout. The conversation was also enjoyable, which made the experience even more memorable.
Overall, it was a comforting and positive experience during an emotional time, and I’m very grateful for the kindness and professionalism shown. I would happily recommend both the hotel and the spa services and would love to return in the future.
