Came here for a staycation and had mixed feelings about the experience. The pool area was nice, but the room itself was very small, and there was no separation between the bedroom and bathroom areas, which made it feel less comfortable and private.
The biggest issue was the customer service at night. One of the water bottles in our room appeared to have already been opened (which is a separate issue) so I went down to the lobby to ask for water. The man at the front desk told me there were no bottled waters available and directed me to the water dispenser, which either wasn’t working or was empty. When I told him, he said to ask the bartender for water. The bartender was busy helping customers, and there were several people already waiting to be helped.
Since it was late and I was frustrated, I went back to the room and called housekeeping for water, but I believe the same employee answered the phone. He told me water bottles were only provided at check-in — even though we never received any — and that I would need to purchase them. After I explained that the bottle in the room appeared to have been opened, he asked if I wanted housekeeping to bring water up, but in a very rude and dismissive tone.
Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of customer service. I was simply trying to get water, and the interaction felt unnecessarily difficult and unwelcoming.
Great location. cool lobby bar. rooms are small. lacks basic amenities like in room coffee, glasses, lotion. bed was not comfortable due to lower quality linens
-The water (tab, bath) feel oily and unpleasant. This must be checked.
-No coffee in the room or the lobby - how can one start happily the day.
-Charging automatically, daily, for pool and gym (we did not use them) is totally unfair.
-If you don't specifically tell them to clean the room, they will not do it.
I often stay here when I am in town for conferences or workshops. It is a great, clean location that is quiet but still accessible to foodie areas like Lake and (a bit further) the more touristy areas of Colorado Boulevard and Del Mar (by Castle Green, etc). The staff is very friendly, the decor is beautiful and there is both a fitness gym and a pool. The parking is also very convenient and safe. This hotel is a hidden gem and very much worth the value for money!
This is my fourth time visiting California and it was such a memorable and enjoyable experience! Location in the heart of Pasadena, staff are friendly and accommodating. The ambience was very warm, cozy, and the rooms were nice. The whole experience felt very personalised. Special thanks to Anthony, he was very helpful and attentive! Highly recommend for anyone looking for an easy getaway. We’ll definitely be back.
Great place to stay and I am leaving a review for Mr.Anthony. He is a very generous kind young man. I will definitely come back
Lobby of the hotel has a great aesthetic. I wish I could say the same for the room's aesthetic. All contemporary furniture. We had the king room with partial pool view. The room was literally...a room. There was no separation between the shower/toilet area and the rest of the room. There were frosted glass doors for the shower and toilet. And that's it. They were completely exposed to the rest of the room. Wasn't expecting that.
The pool itself was great (and the main reason why we were there). However, there were many things that weren't so great.
- Only had an attendant serving drinks Fri-Sun until 5:30p. If you want a drink on a weekday, you need to wait until the bar in the lobby opens at 4:30p to get your own drinks.
- No attendants to clean up after messy guests. Got to the pool mid-afternoon and there were cups and beer cans littered all over the place (the ground, planters, tables). No one to clean up after the lazy guests, so there were a bunch wet towels on the lounge chairs throughout the area. It makes it hard to tell what lounges are taken.
- Not sure if the lack of staff is due to the season though.
The food we ordered through room service was great. Service was excellent when calling in our order and the delivery.
Our room had a little tiny balcony. I wish there was a small table and chair out there, as the views were great.
Wonder stay close to my son wedding venue and everyone was nice friendly the coffee was awesome and friendly service.Thank you
There was a clump of hair on the wall in the shower for 3 days, after I’d very calmly just asked them to clean the bathroom. (There were other toothpaste spots and dirty windows too).
By day 3, the concierge didn’t believe me that it was still there despite me showing a photo from 5 mins earlier. They wanted me to watch someone clean the room (very demeaning solution!), they wouldn’t move rooms, they kept showing me a photo of another part of the bathroom to show they cleaned it.
I was very specific, told them exactly what the issue was and where and it wasn’t cleaned. There were other aspects of the room also unclean, but I didn’t even bother trying. It was gross.
They offered me a $50 credit, but I just wanted to change rooms and feel like it was clean. My brother lives next door so it’s ver frustrating that I now don’t want to stay in the closest hotel available.
Hotel Room was super small. You have to request housekeeping, or they won't do it. No complimentary coffee in room. Hotel does not have a business center. Hotel charges a mandatory facility fee of $13 per day for the pool, even if you don't use it. Hotel parking is $29 per day. The added taxes exceeded my allowed itemizations on my expense report. All the additional fees and add-ons took away some of the fun of staying at an iconic hotel. Neighborhood is great, very friendly and walkable, even at night. I enjoyed my stay despite the tiny room and the extra charges.
Had great difficulty getting my room serviced. On two separate evenings I requested room service for the next day. Neither time did the room get serviced.
We were annoyed when we arrived after 1:00 p.m. and were charged $25 to access our room early. A charge applies if you stay later than 11:00 a.m., too. The beds were nice, as were the pillows. We didn’t get to use the outdoor pool, as it rained the entire weekend.
It’s 1.5 miles from Old Town Pasadena, located in the Theater District.
I was disappointed with my stay at this hotel. While the rooms were clean and the location was convenient, the staff’s attitude overshadowed the experience. From check-in to check-out, most interactions felt rushed and dismissive, as if guests were an inconvenience rather than a priority. Simple questions were met with curt responses, and requests for help were brushed off. Hospitality should make you feel welcomed and cared for, but unfortunately, that warmth was missing here. With better staff training and a friendlier approach, this hotel could be great, but as it stands, I wouldn’t choose to stay again.
Difficult to actually add pets to booking. And no way to add two pets prior to arrival. The bowl and tent advertised were for in hotel use only and were not even provided anyways. Pets must move through common spaces quickly and directly. No reliving area. Pets not allowed on furniture; this is common, but with such small rooms it is a big challenge.
Housekeeping must be requested the day before, not day of. White socks were dark brown after walking around for a few minutes. Only two towels provided.
Easy to park and drop off
Housekeeping could have been a lot better. For two days we asked for our room to be cleaned. All they did was accept the trash when I handed it to her and change the towels.
Beautiful hotel. A hotel this nice should have some type of lounge or dining options.
There wasn't a coffee maker in the room. No dining options during the day. Coffee was horrible. And it's only out till 10:30 am.
Good location to walk to Old Pasadena, lovely lobby with a few games, nice pool area. Room a little on the small side. The glass panel in the shower didn’t bother us. It was totally frosted. Very clean hotel. Staff were lovely
