Not clean, dirty, no response from front desk when we check in and observed issues and broken stuff in the property they mentioned to contact owner
Great place, pictures are accurate, bed is comfortable, kitchen equipment is of a good condition and the host was quick to reply about queries. Would highly recommend (i even extended my stay), and will be back.
Was the prefect space for our weekend away! Clean and spacious with a view of the mountains. Bed was big and comfortable.
Easy walk to the village
This review is poor, not on behalf of the front desk of the Aspen‘s property, but it is of the booking done through Expedia. The girl at the front desk of the Aspen was very helpful, because of her we were able to find the right phone number to connect with so that we can actually get access to the room and code to get into our room. Had she not provided the phone number for Expedia who then had to contact the property management company, who manages the property of the aspens, we would have been waiting for hours. The Aspen’s hotel does not have a front desk staff to check people in as it is a privately owned building with a property management company that takes care of certain units while other property companies take care of other units. Had it not been for the girl who was working at the front desk who helped us find the right people to connect with after connecting with Expedia customer service, we would have still been trying to check in.
Great property at great location, however door code and room number not provided 2 weeks prior as per email ended up 45 min on the phone with expedia to gain room access as the front desk cannot do anything. Eventually it got sorted but after a long trip to get there it was not a smooth transition. Also no instructions for garbage handling as the jotel cleaners don t pick them up….these were the only 2 issues, the rest was great
Functional layout, space, TV, ski in, ski out, staff for ski valet and desk.
Bed was not great and the pull out sofa bed was very uncomfortable, flimsy. The place needs a major clean! The carpet was filthy. There's some weird grease/dirt on the ceiling, and the dust was thick on everything from blinds to lamps. The closet doors were falling off the hinges, the bathroom door barely closes, and very loud. Kitchen supplies were a hodge podge, and very poor quality.
ski in ski out was great
I found the property to be very clean and well maintained. Quiet; away from the noise of the main village.
However, we found there were way too many codes for way too many doors. Also; check in instructions very unclear. They also force you to put your gear in storage and do not give you a tag number, don’t have cameras and have a sign saying they take no liability.
The front desk also wouldn’t assist us with matters as we weren’t one of the rooms they managed, which was an irritant.
As long as you understand their system and are good with it, great place.
Convienance to the resort would be what your paying for.
Way over priced for the condition of the condo. Everything in the condo is old, beaten up, and out dated.
Dining room table looks like it was picked out of a dumpster a decade ago.
All the mountings in the bathroom falling off the wall or barly attached.
Light in the living room broken cant turn lights on and off
Can only control with wall switch
Carpet is gross. Bedding and blankets uncomfortable and not very warm. Basically using layered sheets.
With out being to blunt condo is certanily owned by an ownet thats out to make money and charge high prices for limited stays.
My suggestion would be stay at the executive inn at whistler or some of the other places in the village.
Staples hanging out of the cushions of the foot rest nice suprise while trying to move around....
Just over all disapointed in this stay.
The unit we had was nice and clean, the property is just 1 min walk from the gondola ride, but sad to say that the gondola ride was closed😔. Still we had a great time.
honestly the whole experience was a nightmare and Dong is an irresponsible person and irresponsible host who puts his guests safety into question.
Dong the host is an irresponsible person who didn't consider our safety when he just gave our door access code to someone else without verifying if they were the guest that booked the room for the night (they apparently mistakingly booked for the following weekend but Dong just gave them the door code without asking who it was). We ended up wasting two hours after check-in time (which at 4 pm is already ridiculously late) to finally be able to get into the room after the random people Dong gave the door access code decided to leave the room.
Because these other people were in the room before us, they used the shower which was therefore filthy, and used the towels and left the kitchen dirty. Completely not my fault and, again, irresponsible host. Again, the shower was used and dirty, I had to clean it myself. There was garbage left on the kitchen counter, and one of the people spilled something on the counter. The towels were used. I am not expecting to be travelling for hours to come to a dirty room and clean it myself. And for my partner, after completing the Gran Fondo and being beyond exhausted, this is NOT the experience anyone wants to have. Completely ridiculous host and booking company who have both completely ghosted me after being informed that Booking.com does not give out refunds if the host doesn't reply.
We recently stayed at a one-bedroom unit in the Aspens. The unit was in its original condition, but it was comfortable and met our needs for the trip. While the pool was under construction, we appreciated that the hot tubs were still available. The location is a bit of a hike from the village, which can be challenging, especially with kids in tow, but the setting is peaceful and quiet. Overall, it was a decent stay, though it might not be ideal for those looking for a more updated unit or something closer to the village.
I had an extremely disappointing stay at Aspens. There was no information provided for check-in and when I called the phone number provided they told me to come to a different location, and when I arrived they informed me it was actually a remote check-in and I did not need to have come in person. I was travelling alone with my 15 month old son so the unnecessary stop after travelling to Whistler was unfortunate. Relieved to get to our room I was immediately disappointed. The bed did not look to have been made with care, there was something on the walls (vomit/food, I'm unsure), there was food on the floor (popcorn kernals, dried salad leaves, pistachios), items from the previous visitors left on the windowsill, and then a moldy shower curtain. After quickly cleaning up as much as I could with my son running around I struggled to get him to sleep in this hot room as there were only a few fans that did not help to lower the room's temp nor move the air around. When I finally lay down to go to sleep I was again disappointed. It felt as though I was lying on foam, and once I'd checked I discovered there was in fact foam placed on top of an old mattress. I continued to discover things: pillows stained, dishes unclean, etc. Unfortunately, I couldn't find somewhere else to stay as it was the Gran Fondo weekend. The saving grace was the pool on a hot day, but I will not be staying here again.
