Convenient, clean rooms, fast wifi, value for money
I chose this hotel because I trust the IHG brand and usually associate it with consistent service standards. Unfortunately, this stay did not fully reflect that expectation.
From the beginning, I noticed that room cleanliness—especially the bed sheets—needed more attention. Cleanliness is a basic standard, and it’s disappointing when that fundamental aspect falls short.
Dining was another area that needs improvement. The restaurant’s food and coffee were below what I would expect from an IHG property. For breakfast, I don’t need a huge variety, but quality matters. Simple essentials like butter for toast were not available (only margarine), and condiments were placed in open jars, which made me question the hygiene standards. These may seem like small details, but they significantly shape the guest experience.
Service consistency was also an issue. Some staff members seemed unfamiliar with hotel events or facilities, which made it difficult to get clear information. At the restaurant cashier, the interaction during payment felt unwelcoming, as “not yet, not yet” was repeatedly said while operating the EDC machine. It gave the impression of a lack of basic hospitality training.
That said, not everything was negative. Several staff members were genuinely friendly and helpful, and I truly appreciate their warmth. The shower pressure was excellent, and the bed and mattress were very comfortable, allowing me to rest well.
Overall, this stay felt more like a test of patience than the relaxing experience I usually associate with IHG. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works toward improving consistency and quality, as the property clearly has potential.

1st of all i already requested my room with my father in law 1 room far. nana said okay on booking.com chat. i requested 2 weeks earlier. when i came over the lady said not ready yet. she gave me different rooms. she was arrogant rude. lol this is my 1st and the last i come. ive been to alot of holiday inn express. singapore and malaysia. but in surabaya totally down fall. its not 4 star to me its like 2 stars. even 3 stars hotel in surabaya way better.
and the housekeeping dont even changed new bedsheets bro, totally disgusting. KAMPI way better. horrible hotel i swear 1st and the last.

The overall stay is good, the staffs are friendly and accomodating, the service is good, breakfast great. It just a tiny details like the pillows I think is a bit overdue, the shower head that keep falling down when I was showering.
I choose this because it close to my parent house and there are arrays of choice foods around the hotel. Close to BG junction, TP and Tunjungan street.
