Mithra Cave Cappadocia

3 stars at best, the location is great! If you are looking for a hotel with a nice view for a photoshoot with the balloons, it’s definitely a good option. However, the terrace was extremely dirty, didn’t even wanted to sit down… some common areas smell of cat urine, I had a room with a terrace and they never cleaned the terrace (not even the ashtray) in 3 nights, the bathroom is not the best, the water pressure is not the best, not a lot of space on the bathroom counter to put your things. The staff is friendly, but not necessarily efficient, they forgot to book my shuttle to the airport.

A magical stay in Cappadocia! Mithra Cave hotel has undoubtedly the best views in Goreme. Perched high on the hill overlooking the valley, one gets to experience the beautiful paranomic views from this vantage point. Although I did not get to see the hot air balloons during my stay due to unfavourable weather, it was still amazing to take in the beauty of the town from above. The unique cave architecture, peaceful atmosphere and friendly hotel staff all made for a beautiful stay. I’d certainly stay there again.

The room was cozy and beautifully done, and the staff were genuinely helpful and attentive throughout my stay. Breakfast was delicious, and I also enjoyed their lunch and dinner menu. The hotel is within walking distance to the city center and close to some great spots like Seten Anatolian Cuisine and Sofi Cave Restaurant.

Mithrah is located right next to Sultan Cave Suites, so the area is lively yet still peaceful. One thing I really loved, especially during the cold winter, was the strong water pressure in the shower, which made a huge difference.

Overall, it was an excellent stay, and I’d happily come back again.

Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff, big, beautiful and comfortable room with an amazing view. Breakfast area with view of the balloons (if the weather allows it), but if you want the beautiful seating area seen on online photos, it's private, need be booked and has an extra charge (nobody told me this in advance and I couldn't make my photos). Breakfast very simple, I was expecting more for a 4 stars hotel. Not close to the main street because we are on top of the hill.

5 night stay at Mithra Cave Hotel was very pleasant. Our room was clean and spacious. Good selection at breakfast. Chef Gozde was very helpful making sure we were looked after and satisfied. All other hotel staff were friendly too. Location was also good, near to restaurents and shops.

I recomend the chef Gőzde. She is brilliant.

The room that we got was so different from the pictures. It was so tiny. Compared with $378 we paid, it’s not worth at all. We checked in at 1am. we just thought that’s only 3-4 hour sleep. If we check in normal time, we would have to complain it. Luckily we got Milat for the second night. It’s cheaper and much more comfortable. We paid only $110 and breakfast was so much better. If you looking for the best hotel in Cappadocia, you better give this hotel as your last choice.

Beautiful hotel with a magical room called the Fairy Chimneys. Steps up to the room not for the faint of heart but worth the climb. Beautiful view from the rooftop restaurant.

My stay at Mithra Cave Hotel was truly unforgettable. The morning view from the terrace is simply magical, watching the hot air balloons rise at sunrise felt like living in a dream. The breakfast was delicious and rich with local flavors, the rooms were spotless and beautifully unique, carved directly into the rock, giving an authentic full experience of sleeping inside a fairy chimney. The staff was incredibly kind and always ready to help. I couldn’t have wished for a better place to enjoy this special destination. Highly recommended!

This post is dated August 9th 2025. We traveled from the United States. We booked Mithra Cave hotel for 2 nights after reading the reviews. The room was not as described on hotels.com. False advertising. The fairy chimney room has no windows but the rooms pictures showed hot air balloons. The morning breakfast was stale. We checked in to our room and saw that it had no windows and it was absolutely claustrophobic. We immediately requested a new room and the staff stated it wasn’t available. My wife and I checked out of this hotel within 2 hours of checking in. We found another hotel to stay. We requested the hotel to charge us for 1 night and refund the second night (the room cost us around $350 a night) as we thought it was fair. The staff said that they will speak to the manager and call us about the refund. We haven’t received a call yet. I opened a case with hotels.com. The pictures were a scam to lure customers in. You can only see the view from the hotel property. Not from the rooms. You can find hotels without a view in cappadocia for approximately $120 a night. We lost our money for 2 nights. We moved to Kelebek hotel instead. The rooms were as advertised.
