When we first checked in the room (a queen room) even though booked for 2 adults was only catering for a single person- one towel, one tea bag, one toothbrush, one pair of slippers etc. This was corrected when it was pointed out to them but even at 9:00 pm I had housekeepers coming and knocking on the door wanting to come into the room in the pretence of bringing another bath towel even though this had been done before 4 pm. On checking out I was told I needed to pay for my room service order which was obviously acceptable but then I got told I also had to pay the cost of the room for two nights even though this was paid in full at the time of making the reservation through Hotels.com about 2 months before my arrival. When I informed reception that the room had been paid he wanted to see a receipt as proof of payment. When I produced the printed booking from Hotels. Com which clearly stated the amount paid in full, he then called his manager and said that I was refusing to pay for the room as I had pre paid through Hotels.com. The manager checked details on his mobile and then informed reception that I had in fact paid for the room. No apology as such other than the manager saying to me, “yes sir you have paid for the room”. Probably the poorest experience throughout my 2 week private tour of India. Thankfully all ended satisfactorily. My advice always carry a printed version of your booking or at least have the booking visible on the app.

After the rudeness of the guy at reception on arrival we thought it was going to be a bad 3 days. However, all was great after that and we loved the food in the on site restaurant, they must keep their chef he is awesome. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Only suggestion, please use glasses and water from jug on tables rather than plastic bottles, India needs less plastic NOW...
Great property but terrible service - they just have no idea how to get anything right! Second time staying here, and I only returned because they apologized for the flubs on the first time and sweetened the deal with an upgrade. Terrific rooms, but it is service that defines a hotel: late cleaning, slow service at the restaurant, patchy wifi, terrible gym and steam room hours and slow check-in are but a few of the issues I have with this hotel.
