Just location on what I needed to do
Non-smoking room smelled horrible of cigarette smoke. Smelled like butt hole and 3 dirty ashtrays. It was bad. Bed uncomfortable and not room described when we booked. It was supposed to have a lounge area also and did not.
First, the highlight: the location is excellent — literally a 5-minute walk to the boardwalk, which made everything super convenient. Also, the hotel was surprisingly calm and quiet, which was a big plus for relaxing.
The price was reasonable compared to other hotels in the area — but I guess you really do get what you pay for.
Now… let’s talk about the “extras” (or lack of them).
The room description proudly mentioned a coffee pot and alarm clock. Reality check: no coffee pot. When we asked at reception, we were told we could enjoy a refreshing 5-minute walk to get coffee. Nothing like a morning cardio session before caffeine....
Parking was $10 per night — which would’ve been fine if it had been mentioned beforehand. Surprise fees always add a bit of excitement, I guess.
The shower deserves its own special mention: whoever installed it clearly wanted guests to stay alert. The hot water is actually on the cold side, so I almost gave myself an accidental ice bath trying to figure it out. A true puzzle.
Comfort-wise, we got two very small pillows — minimalist lifestyle, I suppose. The dresser drawers were glued shut (maybe to prevent overpacking?), and one broken drawer was just… left there as decoration.
The fridge looked like it hadn’t been defrosted since last winter. Ice buildup included at no extra charge.
The TV… well, technically it was there. But it wasn’t plugged into anything, so unless you brought your own cables or a bit of imagination, it’s more of a visual accessory. Definitely bring your phone if you’re planning any entertainment.
And overall, don’t expect any extras in the room — it’s a very “what you see is what you get” situation… except you don’t always get what you see in the description.
The air conditioning worked and sheets were clean.
It looks like it’s on the verge of collapse. I felt like I was staying in the owners guest bedroom.
Nothing. I have never been so shocked at the state of a hotel room before and then the lack of concern by the manager who was rude and discounted anything I said. The amount I paid for 1 night there was more than I often pay at much nicer hotel chains - this was such a bad experience and the management was rude and blew us off with each of our issues.
On June 20, 2026, I stayed one night at the Alamar Resort Inn after paying approximately $290 for a reservation. For that price, I expected a clean, safe, and functional room. Instead, I encountered numerous problems that made the stay unacceptable.
The television did not work, even after the front desk attendant and I attempted to troubleshoot it with a replacement cable. The exterior door was so loose in its frame that it would not stay fully closed, creating a security concern. The smoke detector was not functional because it had no batteries installed. Several electrical outlets were pulled out from the wall, with some cords appearing to be held together with duct tape. The shower was not usable because the shower head holder was broken, preventing us from taking a shower. The room was also dirty, and we killed several roaches during our stay.
Unfortunately, no other hotels were available within a 20-mile radius, leaving us with no choice but to stay.
When I brought these issues to the manager's attention and requested a partial refund, he was dismissive and offered excuses for every problem. He claimed he lacked authority to issue a refund, although employees indicated he was the person running the property. He refused any refund and instead offered 20% off a future stay, an offer I found unreasonable given the condition of the room and the fact that I would never return.
I was not seeking a full refund, only fair compensation for paying for accommodations that failed to provide basic cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
the place was trash an the fact they didn’t give me my money back is crazy i was only yher for twenty minutes
remodeling
The room was clean. The location is good. atmosphere is questionable. Very little noise but it was off season so I didn't expect much. the rooms are VERY outdated and simple. The a/c didn't work in my room, the window on the other side of the room was taped off and the top part of the blinds was missing. The only thing they provide in the rooms are toilet paper , towels, microwave and mini fridge. they do have WIFI and cable TV but the signal was in and out. Bottom line if you are looking for just a place to lay your head to sleep and be close to the ocean front this place is for you. Just be mindful it is not the Hilton. You will need to provide your own soap, shampoo etc...
You would think with tourist season around the corner they put a little more effort into making sure things are functional and at the least give the outside a better look. Almost looks like you are walking into a homeless shelter or a crack house. I did not complain because the only thing I did was sleep there. As far as the a/c the nights were cool so if you crack the door it made it comfortable.
The staff was nice
The roaches, all over the room and it was not clean.
It wasent enough blankets
Close to boardwalk
Rooms look old and not really updated
The walk to the beach
The room was dirty, the curtains had galaxy duct tape to close them. The lamp was basically the leaning tower of Pisa and had dents all in it. There was hair on clean towels??? The sheets had stains. The whole experience was distasteful and it was nothing to be happy about. This place needs to be shutdown.
Nothing , the place was terrible!
This place was absolutely terrible , the room I was given smelled like cigarettes which affected my asthma severely , there were holes on the ceiling and in the wall , the shower knob was broke so where was no way of turning on the water . After a few minutes of sitting on the bed , something bit me , I’m assuming a bug. Terrible experience , I left after being there for an hour.
The property was very dirty. The room was filthy and smelled of cigarettes. The lamp didn’t work, the safety latch was broken, the door was not completely on the hinge, it was distrusting.
The place was dirty, the bed had cigarette burns on the comforters. The air conditioner was broken.
The way is looks is relaxing
No laundry facilities
Was no breakfast smelled cigarette smoke all night people was very noisy all hours of the night needed thicker pillows they were very thin ond ony had 3 for 2 of un in a king bed I could stick my hand between the wall and a/c shower didn't work
Will not stay there again don't recommend
