We loved The Glad for a lot of reasons - the subway (National Assembly station) is literally right across the road , there’s a supermarket (U Brand) right next door with enough varieties of fresh, frozen and dry goods to satisfy us, an extensive buffet breakfast array of Korean and Western foods, nicely appointed rooms including a washing machine in our Glad Home room, freshly changed towels every day as well as plenty of detergents, toiletries etc daily. Having loved so many parts of Seoul, the Yeouido area where The Glad is, was a real haven to come home to. For those who don’t like crowds in places like Myeondong 24/7, staying somewhere like Yeouido with its beautiful river park is a great idea. Plenty of buzz though nearby, with Hyundai Mall and IFC mall in walking distance. And subway connections a breeze.
We stayed 6 nights so got a real feel for the area and the hotel. The rooftop garden in late May evenings
was also a treat. Some people took their dinner up there, we noticed. Great spring/ summer spot with a very close view of the National Assembly.
No cooktop in Glad Home room
Limited kitchenware even for the use of the microwave. A micro friendly cooking dish would be useful as well as a little more cutlery.
The girl named Bella at the concierge was really friendly. I think this hotel is chic and clean.
Great experience at the front counter spoke to a lady named Matilda and was really helpful with getting my luggage and check ins sorted out after a long flight

Great, helpful and very pleasant staff, who vo out of their way to welcome foreigners who do not speak Korean
The fitness room was quite limited. Although, Korean eat very healthy and walk a lot, they are healthier than Westerners. Fitness rooms may be optionnal for them.
