Om 10 uur s’avonds hadden we een powerouttage.. dus konden niets opladen , ook geen warm water. Het was donker overal , het leek wel een spookhotel, ze zijn hier totaal niet op voorbereid. Geen noodverlichting.. geen excuses de volgende dag bij uitchecken , geen compensatie .. niks .. 300 euro betaald voor 1 nacht … mag je wel iets verwachten toch aan hospitality ?

Pros:

The hotel was close to downtown Golden making it easy to access restaurants and supermarkets. The staff were also super friendly and helpful when we had to make changes to our booking.

Cons:

Although it was not the fault of the hotel, our stay was cut short due to the power outage which left us with no electricity and hot water for more than 24 hours.

Cons:

Location of room. Right next to lobby. Even though we booked months ago. Didn’t expect the worse room. Solid like a dorm hall. Staff wouldn’t quiet people down. Then power went out twice. And stayed out all night. Not good for cpap users. No good sleep.

Pros:

Perfect base for a holiday in Golden! Extremely comfortable rooms, super convenient location, and warm, attentive service. Plus, the hotel restaurant is fantastic. Highly recommended!

Review: Disappointing Stay due to Poor Hygiene Standards

I recently stayed at the Prestige Golden Hotel and felt it is important to share my experience, particularly regarding their pet-friendly room policies.

We booked a pet-friendly room for our three-year-old Labradoodle. Our dog is very well-behaved and fully house-trained, so we were shocked to discover that the mattress in our room had clearly been soiled by previous guests' pets. It was immediately apparent that the room smelled strongly of urine.

When we brought this to the attention of the front desk and requested a room change, the staff informed us that they had simply changed the linens. Despite us explaining that the mattress itself was the source of the odor, their response was indifferent. They merely offered a "sorry" and insisted we remain in the same room. (Luckily there were two beds in this room!! And second bed was fine).

It is unacceptable for a hotel to continue using mattresses that have been contaminated by pet accidents rather than replacing or professionally cleaning them. Basic health and safety standards should be a priority, and no guest should be expected to sleep on a bed that smells of urine. I cannot recommend this hotel.
