Pros:

The restaurant options were really nice. We were able to order dinner via phone and go down and pick it up in to go containers and eat in our room. Food was all very delicious. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Cons:

The pool was unavailable/needing maintenance when we were wanting to go down to take a quick swim. The biggest issue was the air conditioner made a very loud whining noise all night making it hard to sleep. The website that we booked on said that there was free parking but when we got there, we had to pay $10 a night to park.

Best hotel
Pros:

This the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Loved every second. Except the fire alarm. Staff is so nice. Manager Cindy is the best gave a book. Nice pool. Keycard system is slow but works. Nothing bad about this hotel

Great choice for Charleston area
Pros:

Great location on river and right off of the Interstate. Lobby is clean and spacious--a good atmosphere for gathering with others. Hotel room was clean and quiet. Great water pressure in shower. Bed was very comfortable. Fire pit on back patio overlooking river. Efficient, friendly, and helpful staff and general manager. We arrived around 8 p.m. and general manager had wonderful suggestions for local dining experience. We looked at several other hotels in area and are glad we chose this one. Yes, we paid $10 for parking; however, the room rate was reasonable and this hotel was much cleaner than the others we considered. This Courtyard Marriott is a great choice when staying in Charleston, W.V.

Go somewhere else
Pros:

The refrigerator in our room had a half full bottle of milk in it. Not sure why as the refrigerator wasn't working anyhow. The bistro was closed on a Monday morning.
Parking: The hotel has started charging a $10 to park in the lot. No attendants there and there has been a recent break-in. If I were going back to Charleston I would try the Homewood Suites and park in the Towncenter garage for $5,

Very disappointed, yet again

I always find things so challenging at this hotel. The check-in experience took 15+ minutes of her just staring at the screen trying to find a room. I did let her know I was fine with any room and it was 5 o’clock so it was not before check-in. She said they are just so shortstaffed and cannot find people to clean the rooms, after 15 minutes I begged them to find any room or to get a manager. A manager came out and took another five minutes and seemed annoyed that I was frustrated. He was not friendly at all.

Once I got to my room, there was hair on the bathroom floor that was not mine and hair all in the shower, it was nasty.

This was my fifth stay at this hotel since October of last year and every single time they have the hardest time finding a room. I do not have any room request that should make it challenging. They were not friendly and seemed annoyed with me for wanting to check in. I walked away from the counter, wondering if they actually knew they were a hotel.

I really wish Charleston had more options or that whoever the owner of this property was would get things straight. I stay at hotels all the time and I’ve never found things quite as challenging as they are at this hotel.

Cons:

The manager on duty refused an extra blanket. With persistence another staff member provided one right away. Breakfast was unavailable Sunday morning. The body wash container was empty. We had to pay for overnight parking in the hotel parking lot!
