Walking distance to the river and Royal Palace. Helpful staff
The breakfast staff were nice and cheerful. The internet was terrible and there was little hot water
Good location. Nice little pool. Good breakfast. Numerous repairs needed around the property. Property is under new management and is aware. In fact the manager told me they plan to close for 6-8 weeks or renovation.
Very good hotel located close to all sorts of shops and restaurants, about10 minute walk to pub street and markets. Hotel staff are very polite and attentive and smiling, hotel itself is very pleasant with a small garden, all well maintained. Lovely breakfast, omlette or noodles, coffee, french bread and croissants all delicious !
The room was spacious, sparkling clean, quiet and very beautiful. The pool is in perfect condition. Water, 2 pillows and 2 large towels per person were provided as well as towels for the pool. It was very appreciated. Very beautiful and exotic hôtel. Alot better than the pictures!
The 18 year boy served us very well at the restaurant during our breakfast. Thanks for his good service.
staff serviable
This is a very well located property located on beautiful grounds with a very helpful staff. That said the mattresses were hard as a rock and the wifi in our 3rd floor room was intermittent at best. Could be that these issues were unique to our room but no way of knowing.
Agréable séjour de 10 jours dans ce plaisant hôtel bien situé à Siem Reap.
Lovely building with multi lingual staff just adds to the excellent location of the auberge. Central and walking distance to most activities in town without being noisy or boozy.
Hôtel bien situé, propre, avec piscine calme et personnel très serviable.
Nous avons obtenu les services d'une excellent guide francophone grâce à l'hôtel.
This is my second stay at the Auberge Mont Royal. Again, they took very good care of me. I was late getting into the airport but they had no problem sending someone to pick me up. My room was clean and breakfast is always good. I am walking distance to my work at the hospital. I was able to leave my bags with the office because my plane didn't leave until late at night and the night desk person let me change in her bathroom so I could have fresh clothes on for my long trip home. Will stay here again when I come in the future.
We enjoyed our visit, especially the pool, which even included a small waterfall.
Unfortunately, despite being recommended to us by a friend, the hotel fell short when giving us advice about getting a guide for visiting the temples near Siem Reap, which was the main purpose of our visit.
The night we arrived, we asked the desk clerk if he could arrange a guide for two days ahead, and he said he would try. The next morning, he said he was having difficulty, as it was high season and guides were hard to find. We asked if there was an agency we could try, and he replied that if he and his friends couldn't find a guide, then an agency wouldn't have one either. He said he would continue trying. After lunch, we approached him again, and he said there were no guides available. We asked him if he had any suggestions, and he just shrugged.
We then walked to a smaller hotel right across the street, and their desk clerk had a excellent guide for the next day arranged for us within minutes.
AC make noise and too low
Nice swimming pool
Staff very gentle
I stayed there in August when I was working at the children's hospital. It was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and adequate to keep me from being hungry. The desk staff including the manager were wonderful when it came to taking care of me for activities, places to eat and rides to other locations. They also made arrangements for a tuktuk to pick me up from the bus station. Laundry services were also good. I had no complaints at all during my stay and would definitely stay there again if I return. Can't recommend them enough!
I think this hotel is slightly overpriced for what you get.
We stayed here for two nights at the very beginning of our trip. Very pleased we chose this hotel. We are family of four and had good sized room (#314) with a queen and two double beds. Room was quiet and cool.
Must admit I was slightly disappointed when I first arrived at the hotel after reading such rave reviews. We had a double room and whilst it was very clean with a great air-conditioner (the most important requirements in this part of the world), the room itself was quite cramped with a tiny window overlooking the pool. Small issues: the bathroom light/fan took several attempts to turn on due to a faulty switch, the plug in the bathroom sink was jammed & in the room were two pairs of dirty, very used flip-flops that we were presumably meant to use inside the room. Also we stayed 7 nights and the sheets/pillow cases were not changed once, which could have been improved upon considering the incredible and inevitable amount of sweating due to 36+ degree days at 80% humidity.
The staff were pleasant enough, but not exceptional and not very knowledgable about the quality/value of the day-trips they were advertising. We consequently booked all our trips in town.
Breakfast includes a little muffin (or croissant on good days when they have it available), plenty of bread (white baguette), fruit and your choice of pancakes, eggs or noodles. Sufficient enough and a couple of great altenative options in Pub Street available if you're after a little more variety.
All in all, the hotel was well-priced, very clean, good location and felt perfectly safe with pleasant staff. Having said that, it was not 'excellent'...only by western standards.
