Great location, arrived too late for food. Comfy bed
Friendly staff, lovely food, very clean
Lumpy pillow , very dusty fan
Excellent hotel for our sightseeing purposes. We liked position close to A1. Staff so friendly &. helpful.
Nothing.
Location/price
Bathroom roof was really low. Skirting board to bath was extremely damaged. Heater in bedroom was hanging off the wall.
Booked a stay with my family (son under 1yr) yet the fold out sofa bed (double) was made up? What infant is going to sleep on a sofa bed?
Temperature that weekend was extremely hot and there was no air-conditioning or fan provided. Had to strip the duvet down to the sheet and sleep just under that.
staff were all great, very accommodating, bed was comfy and food was decent and good value. Rooms were clean and cleaners done a great job
WIFI did not work and no phone signal in the room. Shower was small and very weak water pressure. Walls and doors were peeling
Location clean rom and comfortable nice breakfast
Carpets not very clean didn’t looked vacuumed very dated
Location
bathroom facility
Tues Eve, meal with friend, in garden, enjoyed, all good, looked after by Caroline & Tom. Young waitress didn’t seem sure of her role re what she could/couldn’t do? eg: she didn’t know if she was allowed to take a drinks order & bring them to us??!!
TV/Wifi in room, a nightmare, signal kept dropping out, no TV channels, (missed the Footie) Later, TV ok one minute, off the next. Came back on, then NO SOUND in BBC1 (Room 3)
Breakfast, not very well organised. Unsure what was included in pre-paid B&B price. Classic breakfast looked very nice, good quality bacon but everything tasted VERY SALTY?? Also, main ‘niggle’, dining tables VERY STICKY, need a proper ‘deep clean’

Pub
The staff were warm and welcoming. We appreciated the spacious room which was clean and comfortable. The hotel was conveniently close to the A1.
There was a limited choice for the evening meal: both the chicken fajitas and lamb kofta were not available . Also, the hotel did not stock Fevertree tonic despite it being on the drinks menu.
Great location, spacious room and bed was comfortable
The shower was appalling, tv kept losing signal which made it difficult to watch. Was given a fan to use but very poor. Didn't get to eat in pub as kitchen was closed early on the Sunday
Spacious room
In need of TLC
Reasonable pub food at good prices. Helpful staff.
Bedroom decor a bit tired. At breakfast certain menu items were not available
We stayed at Darrington on Friday as we were attending a wedding that day, and I can't thank Jackie enough for turning what started as a very stressful morning into a positive experience.
On Friday morning, our entire area had a water outage. Just as I was about to shower and wash off my fake tan, there wasn't even a dribble of water. Panic set in! At 9:00 am, I called the hotel and spoke to Jackie. She was absolutely amazing from the moment she answered. She took charge of the situation, reassured me she would see what she could do, and promised to call me back.
True to her word, within 10 minutes my phone rang. Jackie had managed to arrange for us to access a room early, which was an absolute lifesaver. We quickly packed up and headed to the hotel, feeling much less stressed thanks to her.
Check-in was smooth, and we made sure to thank Jackie in person. She really went above and beyond to help us, and her kindness and efficiency made all the difference.
The hotel room itself was lovely—clean, comfortable, and, best of all, it had a shower with running water, which felt like a luxury after the morning we'd had! We had a great stay, and it's all thanks to Jackie's exceptional customer service.
Thank you again, Jackie. You truly saved the day!
Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Also the hotel was very close to the A1 and well priced.
The toilet had a weak flush; the handle needed to be pumped several times for the flush to work properly.
