Handy location. Good value for money, decent breakfast. Clean
Reception staff too casual. I don't like being called mate by a lad 40 yrs younger than me. Polite professionalism please. Breakfast staff were friendly without being over familiar.
Very friendly staff
Quiet room
Small shower. Needed resealing round the tray as looked mouldy

Nothing
A cheerful and helpful welcome at reception.
For a budget hotel it has much going for it and is better than other such hotel I’ve stayed in.
The room was adequate and better equipped than expected.
Breakfast was freshly cooked to a high standard. The waitress was exceptionally cheerful and absolutely on top of her job. She seemed to be in control of everything. Like all the staff she was so friendly and helpful which made our stay.
Also there is free on site parking. All in all very good value for money.
The en suite shower room could do with some form of heating. It was a chilly shower.
Friendly helpful staff, nice and quiet room, clean and tidy room
Amazing place to stay. The staff are lovely, the pub is right next to where the accommodation is with a door through so you don't have to go outside and the rooms are large, clean and comfortable and amazing value
Very welcoming staff lovely clean spacious room massive bed .
Comfortable bed
The small bathroom
Bed was huge (2 singles pushed together).
Meal was cheap.
Drinks reasonable price.
Most staff ok except one.
Locals very welcoming
Extremely annoyed that the Sky went off for the rugby league (claimed Sky outage) and I had waited 12 years for my team to be back in Super League and they were aware of the special occasion.
One extremely snotty woman in a red shirt informed us "Nothing we can do" yet a few minutes after the rugby they has Sky showing live football with no issues, My girlfriend considered her highly rude and offensive considering the rest of the staff were acutely aware of my passion for said match, she had no intention of being helpful.
When in a quiet room alone I had radio commentary on my phone (no disturbance to others) said woman glared at me. Why? Locals were asking me the score but I was treated like dirt for compensating for her lack of TV coverage and others wanted to hear the score live.
That is abosultely disgusting as the rest of the staff (and the website) had promised said match live all day. Totally spoiled the night.
Sunday morning no hot water in the shower, fixed when we returned at 5pm but not good when we like a morning shower.
No offers of goodwill (Village Hotels are good if you have an issue which we have only had once).
Early check in on request staff really helpful.
Nothing
Great stay ahead of Sheffield Half Marathon. We booked this hotel to break up the journey and it was ideally located just off the A1, making race morning much easier. On arrival, a member of staff noticed we looked a little lost in the restaurant and kindly guided us through to reception, which was really appreciated.
The room was excellent - a huge, comfortable bed with plump pillows and crisp white bedding, exactly what you want before race day. The bathroom was spotless, with an incredible rainfall shower that felt like a real treat.
We had an early start so didn’t stay for breakfast, but the in-room kettle with tea, coffee and sugar meant I could prepare my porridge before we left. The room also included menus for the restaurant downstairs, and ordering via the app was simple - we even received a free prize for our first visit, which was a lovely bonus.
Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend it. I’d happily book again for next year’s race.
Location
The bed was terrible, we both didn’t get much sleep as the springs were coming through the mattress. The shower/bath was poor. We paid for a cooked breakfast but didn’t eat much of it as the food was covered in old grease.
