Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Gutes Frühstück. Sonniger und geräumiger Frühstücksraum. Herrlich ruhige Lage mit Blick auf einen autofreien Platz mit wunderbarem alten Baumbestand.

Cons:

Leider gibt es im gesamten Hause keine Klimaanlage, was in den Superhitzetagen nur schwer erträglich ist; da helfen auch die kleinen Standventilatoren in den Zimmern nicht. Im Frühstück war nur Filterkaffee oder Tee im Preis inbegriffen. Jede andere Kaffeezubereitung kostete extra.

Cons:

J'aurais aimé savoir à l'avance que le parking était payant et connaître le prix. Le lieu est super mais peut être un peu trop moderne dans les chambres qui malgré la propreté indéniable manque de vie.

We noticed a problem with the TV on arrival and informed reception immediately. They had to come 3 times and ended up "solving the problem" by providing us with a ridiculously small TV over 24h after having been notified of the problem. Literally 'too little too late'!

Very pleasant stay in an artfully updated historic building.
Pros:

I love the historic character of the hotel and how they have retained some original features like the window and granite columns, but it has been totally modernised. Each room is different and especially decorated with art and classic furniture design. The staff are excellent and very pleasant. It is a great location close to the modern centre but still walkable to the old part along the river, the Cathedral and the train station.

Kleine Schönheitsfehler, aber insgesamt eine Reise wert!
Pros:

Wunderschöner Platz vor dem Hotel mit sehr gutem Restaurant “La Fonda” (unbendingt ausprobieren!).
Sehr sauber. Außergewöhnliches Gebäude in sehr ruhiger Late. Sehr hilfsbereites Personal.

Cons:

Das Zimmer war sehr warm (Sonnenseite und keine Klimaanlage (baulich wahrscheinlich nicht erlaubt oder möglich). Der Frühstückspreis ist eigentlich okay, den Cappuccino aber extra zu berechnen ist kleinkariert (schade)

Die Lage ist unschlagbar

Cons:

Das Zimmer war super alt und verwohnt. Handtücher ausgefranzt. Schimmel im Bad. Trotz dreimaliger Bitte um Shampoo wurde es nicht nachgefüllt. Es gibt nur einen Stuhl, die zweite Person muss immer auf dem Bett sitzend.
Das schlimmste: an dem Wochenende, als wir dort waren, war es super heiß und es wurde nichts dafür getan, Abhilfe zu schaffen, außer einen kleinen Ventilator. An schlafen war nicht zu denken, da die warme Luft im Raum gestanden hat.
Personal war absolut nicht hilfreich in den meisten Belangen.
Der Preis ist absolut nicht gerechtfertigt für das, was man bekommt.

Calm inner city oasis
Pros:

Had found out about the Qvest in a UK Guardian article. Booked for 4 nights. Quiet, off-road location, no street noise. Set in a gothic architecture city archive building. Arts-loving owner has well-stocked library with sitting area. Large rooms. Buffet breakfast is extra but worth paying for. 10 minute walk to city centre, 5 minute walk to Päffgen brewbub (most traditional Kölsch beer). Would stay here again
