Total, dirty ripoff, especially with the breakfast feature yanked and no cancellation available.
Pros:

We enjoyed the mattress.

Cons:

Everything. We booked this place because breakfast was included and we had to pay upfront with no cancellation policy. THEN they posted they were not serving breakfast anymore. Place was dirty, mould on bathroom shower walls and a cobweb and spiders in the bathroom. Comforter and chairs in the BR were ANCIENT, NO SPRINGS IN THE CHAIR AND THE COMFORTER AT LEAST 30 YEARS OLD. Many rooms were vacant and we felt we had been given the worst one in the place. Does not deserve Canadian Tourist 4.5 star sign!!!!

A lovely stay at historic inn in downtown Stratford
Pros:

Beautiful historic property and centrally located within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and theatres. Comfortable beds, clean room, and charming.

Cons:

The parking was a little difficult to maneuver. Some things were a little rough around the edges. The A/C window unit was clunky and old and quite noisy disrupting sleep.

It was lovely, but could have been exceptional with more information.
Pros:

It was a good location for visiting downtown Stratford.
Stone Maiden was lovely, but nothing exceptional.

Cons:

We were not informed of being able to use the pool table or downstairs common area.

Overall excellent!
Pros:

Tim was an excellent host. The stay was comfortable and the location was perfect. Wonderful and comfortable stay. We will definitely choose Stone Maiden again!

Pros:

Close to all the amenities downtown.

Cons:

I had to carry my own bags to the third floor. No fridge, coffee or tea in room. We had to go to the second floor for that.

Expected a different experience based on high reviews. New innkeepers. Beware of pictures. No food, rooms not cleaned. Reviews based on old dates! Do not have high expectations.Double billed with no refunds! Escalation through visa required.

Great location, but...
Pros:

Although "official" check-in time ran from 4-6pm, we had advised the innkeeper a day in advance that we would be there around 8pm. Although we received no reply to that email, we assumed 8pm would be okay as innkeeper had advised in earlier email to let them know if we'd be arriving outside the offical time. The parking area seemed to be full, so we texted the innkeeper from the driveway, and went inside. We were greeted by a rather cranky gentleman, who said there was lots of room to "park on the grass; it's dead anyway." The room was okay, though it could have used a good cleaning: dustbunnies under the beds and around the baseboards, etc. The amenities, e.g., "complimentary toiletries," consisted of a bottle of body wash, a bottle of combination shampoo/conditioner, a well-used sofsoap dispenser, and a stack of Q-tips. A glass, or even a paper cup to allow for a glass of water in the room would have been nice. There was a single-serve coffeemaker on our floor...we discovered that by accident. We were curious about the extension cord in our room that disappeared through a hole in the wall. On the bright side, the beds were very comfortable and the Inn is in a great location, just a very short walk to restaurants and other downtown Stratford attractions. Overall though, it's case of what may once have been historic charm that's now just old.

It is a beautiful historic home. Excellent parking and within walking distance to town. Bonus- there is a friendly dog!
