Hotel The Public

Public is an amazing boutique hotel, great service, free wifi, good rooms with good views (in higher levels), good breakfast, in a good location.
The only negative point is that you have to walk an almost long distance to get to hotel in the middle of istiklal street.
Despit that, it is located in a good location so you have close access to Galata tower and istiklal.

Great location, very friendly staff. The hotel was very clean and had a great breakfast selection although those expecting a full English will be disappointed but they cater to the international traveller. Extremely good value for money. The location is also excellent upon arrival our concerns where it may be noises however the room was extremely quiet and great air con too. Would definitely return.

The hotel was clean, and we were given a complimentary room upgrade. Breakfast was good. The area around the hotel is full of attractions and busy streets with a lively, energetic vibe, especially for young people. The hotel design is nice, although it used to be better in the past. Parking is very difficult to find, and even taxis can only wait a few seconds for you because the area is so crowded. The staff were helpful, but their service could have been more professional.

Arrived slightly early so accepted the wait for a room. Returning some 2 hours later and into the check-in hours, room still not ready. A further 15 minutes wait. When allocated room was informed we’d been upgraded. Nice surprise. Getting into the room - can’t understand what the upgrade was. Nice size room, but dusty and slight smell of drain. Strange set-up to the bathroom where you need to pass through the shower to get to the loo. Comfortable bed. One TV channel in English which played the same news report on a loop for the couple of days we were there, really ridiculous. The key card indicated 24/7 room service which led us to believe we could order a meal at round midnight when we came to the room. Well- surprise- there’s 4 DRINKS on room service and NO food. Complained- and response was- order from outside. What the heck! Really unacceptable/ then state you’ve got no room service! Staff at front desk were friendly, which was a saving grace. Restaurant for breakfast was cozy and nice selection on offer including great omelettes. Very busy side street on which the entrance is daily had rubbish piled high- awful to have to trudge past it to get to the door. Surely this garbage can be moved away from the area, poor reflection on Hotel The Public. So - in summary- this can ge a great little place if little changes can be made. Location is just a minute from Istiklal Street, which is awesome.

I really enjoyed my stay!
The location was perfect — very central and easily accessible to all the main attractions in Istanbul, whether on foot or by public transport. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything I needed.

A special shoutout to Emin, Mert, and Nihat — they truly went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Their kindness and professionalism made a big difference.

The price was also very reasonable for the quality of service and location, which made the experience even better.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Istanbul, and I’d happily stay here again!

I booked this hotel in my last trip to istanbul. it was about 15 minutes away to Canadian visa centre and that was my main booking reason but now I am so pleased to say that it was a great experience. The staf were very friendly and they all were fluent in english, the rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good for a 4-star hotel. The location was also good, it was very close to isteklal avenue. Actually it was a little crowded around the hotel but I liked it and I enjoyed the cozy clubs and resturants nearby.

The area is loud late into the evening, but nothing we couldn't solve with some earplugs. staff was very courtious and helpful. very professional. we would stay there again

Rooms although a good design are very tired and need a face lift. Shower head in my room needs a proper clean and descale. Breakfast is very average at best. Staff helpful at reception. The nearby nightclub is very noisy with thumping music making sleep difficult!

The public hotel is located at the center of the istiklal street in a tight alley. Hotel has a unique and interesting interior design. Rooms are situated in 2 blocks which one has the alley view and one block has the hotel backside view. The personnel were kind and helpful enough. Hotel doesn’t have the laundry service. Breakfast was ok considering the 4 star hotel. Standard double rooms were relatively small and vanity was located next to the bed outside the toilet area. Last floor (5th floor) rooms were attic roof rooms with low ceilings which can be troublesome for some. These rooms have balcony with distant view of sea. Cleanliness of the hotel was so so, our first room toilet was not clean and as we informed the receptionist, he stated that room service is not active till tomorrow! It is of note that the signs of wears and tears were visible in every corner of the room. On our second night, our rooms electrical system was jammed which resulted in a delayed room change.

I spent four nights in this lovely hotel. The location is perfect, the rooms are clean, shower is great & the hotel has a style. I loved the use of space. What could be better was the breakfast (no pancakes) & some items were unavailable if u missed the first two hours. Also the staff welcoming u into the hotel were a bit cold. They usually said nothing & had no smile on. We got one room for three people & on first day we had a bit of a hard time fitting in as the room was small. But it was Overall a good experience. Nothing big to complain about. I recommend this hotel.

Wow. Wow. Wow. So happy and pleased with this Hotel. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend it. Perfect location. Walking distance to big sightseeings. Comfortable. Got style. Tidy. Good service. Breakfast of high quality. Yes. It's a yes for me.
