The shower had no pressure and dribbled out running hot and cold. No basin chain and light bulb had gone in the bathroom mirror.

Ideal location, lovely staff,hotel in need of a little tlc, room not made up in the time we were there, when we queried why, we were told cleaner couldn't get in, as only one key to the room! Sat/Sun breakfast was ok, Mon was over cooked and service slow, a pity as we were the only two having breakfast.

Welcoming reception and friendly staff. Lovely location and the garden would be lovely to sit out in the Summer. At least at first I felt the room was spacious. Very warm. Nice roomy bathroom internal to the room and for me the shower worked well (not my partner all the time .. it might be a matter of timing). Very easy to walk out from the garden into the heart of the New Forest, which is everywhere gorgeous with Ashurst and Lyndhurst within walking distance. Parking was easy at the front. Wifi fast and reliable. Didn't try the bar or dinner but the breakfast was good for a reasonable additional fee. I would stay again for the price.
Bed was kind of convex and you felt like you could roll off it. Lack of sockets - had to put the phone on the floor and hook the one extension cord on the wall to make it useful. Other side of the bed was a choice of the lamp or your charger. So bring your own extension lead? Very noisy room generally, from bathroom fans to showers to macerators (presumably, or water pumps) to the sound of staff servicing rooms and enjoying their chat. Didn't continue with online check-in because it wanted all sorts of additional information. Post-covid people expect to check in as normal anyway. TV needs to be bigger and better located.

Perhaps just a few coat hooks on the doors in the room, for all pur winter coats.
The hotel was comfortable but quite noisy (e.g. creaky floors, noisy doors). The staff were friendly and helpful, and we very much enjoyed staying in the New Forest. The breakfast menu was pretty good, though we stayed with cereal and toast. The hotel was very family friendly and dogs were welcome.
