Lovely old hotel with huge grounds and direct access to the forest.
The food we had for breakfasts and evening meals was all very good.
Room was spacious with nice views of the grounds. Good shower and bath.
Quiet location away from main roads etc.
Very dog friendly and the grounds and forest access were great.
The room was like a sauna, even with a good fan, fully open sash windows and shutters. Avoid during hot weather.
Waited an hour for cooked breakfast one morning, fortunately we weren't in a rush but even so. The continental cold breakfast version was very limited, given the hot weather there should have been a better selection.
Location, quiet & peaceful.
Restaurant set up for 'fine dining', but menu very much like pub style food, and quality not that good. Limited continental choice for breakfast, and the only bread was supermarket square loaves, despite menu saying fresh homemade breads, no pastries.
The family deluxe room was excellent, it is so spacious and very comfortable.
It was like having an apartment to ourselves and the kids loved it.
The breakfast was really poor in quality and didnt get much food for your money.
We loved the gardens, the bed was very comfortable.
A couple of the staff were not very smiley when we arrived and they couldn’t find our room key so had to wait while they looked for it.
The bathroom and the dining room was very hot and stuffy. The menu could do with having a bit more choice.
Lovely location, newly renovated room, great size, comfy bed, nice linens.
Wonderful position
The only thing was the shower. To start with it was a long wait for the hot water, but that was rectified. The position of the shower head was difficult to manage as it couldn't be moved
The location of the Woodlands Lodge Hotel was superb.
The staff were absolutely fantastic and so friendly.
There are some great paintings dotted about the property that make you giggle.
The property is slightly shabby and could do with updating, if it wasn’t for the staff and location I’d have been very disappointed.
The location is beautiful. Placed within a woodland area of the New Forest.
There was nothing to dislike
The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable, the bar and restaurant were good. Staff were helpful when my mother in law had a fall.
The floor in room 6 was very hot and room 7 was cold. The lights in the hall did not stay on long enough and my mother in law lost her balance and fell.
The ladies were lovely and very friendly and helpful, and the cooked breakfast was nice. Could do with a few more additions to accompany the cereals like rasberry’s and other fresh berries. Very sparce choices if you didn’t enjoy a cooked breakfast. Bed was comfy too.
A very tired hotel, and had dirty carpets and dirty windows almost as if they have never been cleaned. They had paper covering a boiler of some sort. Room was disappointing for a deluxe room, not sure if it has ever been cleaned thoroughly either as found a piece of someone’s clothing left behind the bed. Expensive for the state of the hotel, would not be returning.
Breakfast was cook to perfection and location was excellent if we had better weather we would have walk through the garden to the gate to the New Forest. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Am a bit unsteady on my feet sometimes and would have loved to have a grab rail in the shower.
It was absolutely beautiful, everything was amazing about it . Would definitely go again
Nothing , there’s nothing to not like .
Breakfast was well presented and good quality ingredients. Unfortunately I found a long piece of plastic in my Eggs Royale though..
Sound proofing. Could hear noises clearly from room above no 14 particularly noisy shower
Found dog hairs on my cloths laid over a chair.
No WiFi in room
