Everything. It's such a magnificent, welcoming hotel
Nothing or was all perfect
Quirky hotel with individual bedrooms and layout.
Staff couldn't do more to help. Had an excellent evening meal in the attached restaurant
Whilst we enjoyed our steak meals, one could argue tgat the menu was somewhat limited
Location was super easy to find. Hard to forget where it was
I payed for a room with a view and it said something about a bath tub snd instead I got the very top floor that looked down upon the street and all we could hear was non stop buskers and screaming
The property was in a very central position .
The building is very old and some parts need some upgrading . The stairs to the rooms was steep and could be an issue for some people .
The staff members were all very friendly and helpful. The location is great. In the shower, the water was hot and the pressure good.
While it is clear that the hotel is in the process of being refurbished and hopefully issues will be addressed, there are some things like lack of surfaces, places to hang wet towels, lack of sockets for charging phones etc that could do with being sorted out. Our room had two very tiny bedside tables, containing lamps with large bases. As these were the only available surfaces, it wasn't ideal. There is room to put larger ones in.
Tea and coffee making facilities were on a tiny shelf just long and deep enough for a small kettle and two cups and saucers. This is not really safe when dealing with boiling water.
It was cold, so we needed to turn both the radiators on. Unfortunately the curtains rested on top of one radiator, again not really safe.
A net or other window covering would be good, so that in daytime you don't have to draw the curtains to get changed.
A socket for charging would be useful. The lamps had USB sockets, but a lot of phones/ipads etc use USB-C, so need a socket.
There was a huge gap under the door, so that when I turned over in bed to lay on my side, it was like having a searchlight shining in my eyes. I blocked the gap with my husband's socks(!), which while effective, again, wasn't really safe in the event of a fire etc.
Somewhere to hang wet towels. We ended up using the coat hooks which wasn't ideal, as we needed to hang our wet coats there as well.
These are all things that are easy and fairly cheap to deal with and they would make a big difference to the comfort of the room.
Amazing location, comfortable bed and bath in room. Breakfast was also delicious.
The hotel is located centrally. The staff were amazing from arriving to leaving we felt welcome and valued. The breakfast was lovely with a lot of choice. The room was cosy and clean and the bed comfy and warm. We had a great stay and would recommend
The only thing I could say that I didn't like is, the shower cubicle was on the small side
Great location
Loved the location - so handy for shops and restaurants. And it exudes period charm! (Always prefer historic hotels to modern, generic chain hotels). The breakfast, and food generally, is excellent!
Nothing really - except that there is only one mirror (in the shower room) in Room no 9.
La ubicación y la cama
Location fantastic , lovely fresh breakfast
Bath in bedroom which I chose . Should have read the info better as there wasn’t a shower in bathroom
It was superb all round staff food location
No chair in room
Breakfast was great
Staff were polite
Comfortable hotel. Was able to check in early. Room was really comfortable. En suite was a little small but really good shower. Comfortable bed.
Slightly awkward to get into bathroom as toilet was behind the door. Door squeaked so slightly annoying at night. Only one hook behind door for towels.
Hotel was ideally situated for wandering around The Shambles. Building was beautiful and quirky. Old, traditional style with a quirky twist
Nothing at all - all fab
