A decent stay in a convenient location for visiting the abbey and hiking, with a few small drawbacks.
Pros:

Good location right next to Ettal Abbey with nice hiking trails starting directly from the area. The breakfast was decent and the alpine surroundings were pleasant.

Cons:

When we arrived, the room smelled like food from the restaurant because the window had been left open. Parking directly in front of the hotel is quite limited, and we couldn't try the spa as the operating hours didn't fit our schedule.

Cons:

Rooms with balcony were out dated with tired furniture. Breakfast nothing to write home about, standard for german breakfast! Lots of trails in the area and would have been useful if there were bicycles to rent to ride to other towns.

Beim ersten Mal war‘s noch schön

Die Lage ist - zumal beim Urlaubsstart - idyllisch. Die Nähe und der Blick hinab aufs Kloster bezaubern, auch aus dem Wellnessbereich, der, wenn auch nur Saunen, viele Liegen im Garten und Ruhebereich bietet.

Cons:

Die Handbrause der Dusche war undicht und ließ das Wasser am Handgriff ausströmen. Sollte das beim Reinigen der Dusche vor dem Gästewechsel nicht aufgefallen sein? Zur Unaufmerksamkeit passt, dass der Geburtstag eines Mitreisenden nicht bemerkt wurde.
