Serious health concern and no response from hotel management

I stayed at Hacienda de Leal from August 12–14, 2026, in Room 220.

Following my stay, I developed numerous severe skin lesions, including large fluid-filled blisters, and required medical attention. I have extensive photographs documenting the reaction and reported a suspected bed bug or other biting-insect exposure to the hotel.

I contacted the property multiple times by email and phone and provided photographs. Despite being repeatedly told that management would contact me, as of August 20 I have received no response from hotel management.

I also reported the incident to Booking.com, Best Western Customer Care, and San Benito County Environmental Health.

I did not personally find or photograph a bed bug, so I cannot state that bed bugs have been confirmed. However, given the severity of the reaction, I requested that Room 220 be professionally inspected.

What concerns me most is the lack of response from hotel management after a potentially serious health complaint. I had stayed at this property before and did not expect this experience.

An unique and wonderful atmosphere
Pros:

Stayed on the 4th of July to the 5th. Staff was wonderful. The main office has an adobe style to it, with hefty wooden tables and chairs throughout. Fits the feel of the area. And the rooms do well to continue the vibe. Overall, outstanding experience, and the price was very agreeable

Great place and location if you want to be in Dan Juan Bautista.
Pros:

Everything ! It is clean , cute and staff was wonderful!

Cons:

Only thing the door kept moving with the wind since we got a little windy evenings. Other than that everything was great !

Pros:

enjoy the hotel and, in general, have always appreciated the hotel during the numerous stays at the property.

Cons:

during this stay, on our last night at the hotel, dogs ended up near by room. One dog barked loudly during the night and then all morning. When the issue of the loud barking dog was brought up to the attention of the hotel staff, the response was nothing more than: “I am sorry” and absolutley unacceptable. The hotel staff couldn’t have demonstrated more that they cared less about the endless disturbing noise on their property.
