I liked the arty design, the concept of the hotel.
Be careful with this hotel because it does not respect the reservations. I booked through hotels.com a room (it clearly stated in the reservation that it is a single room and not the shared room-hostel) and there the receptionist shows me a paper that has no connection with my reservation where it appears as if I would be booked in a single hostel room in a room. I mention that I paid the price for the single room and not for the hostel - single bed. I canceled the reservation was the only way to solve the problem and I went to another hotel. It is a trick of the hotel and this hotel is to be avoided.
The staff were really helpful, there was a 24 hour check in and free luggage storage. We had free breakfast as well which was nice. The hotel had a good location that you could walk to from the centre in 20 mins, the only thing was that the room was a bit small, not much space to move and boards between the bunk beds.Good choice overall.
Location of hotel and price of accommodation are generally good.
This hotel must be avoided. At the check in I was told that I was not going to be accommodated at single room that I had booked but in a shared room. When I complained, they said that it was not their fault but the tour operator selling the rooms to Expedia. I spent three hours over the phone with both operators to try sort this problem out. It appears that this trick is practiced often. There were several other guests in my same condition.
ATTENTION BEFORE BOOKING! ME AND OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BOOK A PRIVATE ROOM BUT THEY GIVE US A SHARED ROOM!
ALSO WHO BOOKED WITH OTHER WEBSITE THEY INFOR YOU MISTAKE IS NOT THEM BUT WEBSITE. (HARD TO UNDERSTAND...)
OVERALL FOR GROUP COULB BE OK. ITS SEEM CLEAN
벨기에에 대한 우울하고 음산한 기억을 심어준 호텔. 공짜여도 다시는 가지않을 호텔.
I arrived at the hotel at 23.00 having booked a single room. Upon arrival, I was told that I would be sharing a room with a complete stranger!
I had to find another hotel - not easy at that time of night!
Nekotel refused to offer any refund.
(This review relates to a visit in October 2019).
I’d read the reviews however the hotel is ok. Clean sheets and clean towels daily. The breakfast is fine and the coffee is great. It’s very close to the station. The area is not great but it’s busy and felt ok.
The lobby seems ok but once you enter the rooms, they stink! It smells strongly to cigarette and all your belongings will end up smelling like that. Walls and windows are very thin, which makes it very noisy.
Not a lot of TV channels and wifi stops working at random times.
Let's start with the fact that I have asked for twin beds weeks before - when booking online - just to be told at our arrival at 9pm that they only have a double bed room left. Fine. Let's continue with the fact that the hotel is in a bad looking area, dark populated with grimy figures and with sudden spells of activity even in the middle of the night, including people yelling in various un-understandable languages whilst having loud/drunken "conversations" or simply coaches coming and going all the time. Fine. Let's talk about the dark stairs with not working light: still fine. However the apex is reached with the room: a horrible filth and smelly cave not suitable as a shelter for any human being - or any other vertebrate actually. As visible from the pictures, the carpet was in obscene conditions, with plenty of stains, dust and other bits. The drapes where dirty and stained as well and even the bed sheets where stained in many places. All that in a room with one of the bed light broken and sadly hanging on by its cables and the obvious big cigarette (crack?) stain on the bedside table. The bathroom was an additional level of dirty decadence, with the toilet seat missing altogether, the shower curtain disgustingly and suspiciously stained, the shower seal falling off etc. We couldn't even just have a proper shower to wash all the above away because only a few ml of showering substance was available, which was barely enough for my hair! I do strongly recommend this hotel to be cleared off the list of available accommodations in Bruxelles and I also strongly recommend anyone considering it to avoid at all costs.
The rooms were filthy and the carpet and curtains looks as though they have not been cleaned since the the hotel have been opened. The walls were dirty and the window sill was full of dust that triggered my asthma. One of our bed was broken in the middle and the other was being supported with a tin of paint and the toilet seat was broken. I made several complaints by email to both booking.com and the hotel but never got any response so I verbally complained and upon checking out I was offered €20 by Christian the receptionist/manager on the condition that I go online and somehow cancel my booking which would have prevented me from writing a review.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, comfortable bed.
The bathroom had a little bit of sewer smell, but it wasn't that bad.
The idea of making an "art" hotel is cute, but in this case its very poorly executed, and the so called "art" is falling off the walls. I feel the rooms could use a brush up, and it would probably not even take that much effort to make them feel more fancy.
Stayed here on the first night of our travels and it was just what we needed, very close to the train and bus station and only a short walk into the center of Brussels . The room itself was clean, bright and had great views over the City, it had everything we needed, hairdryer, clean towels, air con, wifi etc.
There was a breakfast option available for I think €6 but we didn't take it, the staff were friendly and helpful so The process was smooth. The only downside to our stay would have been that the pillows on the bed were small and limited, which made for a slightly uncomfortable sleep. However we had a great stay and would go back if we were to revisit the area!
I don’t usually write bad reviews as I am always loath to be negative where no negativity is really needed, but these guys are truly taking the proverbial ‘Mickey’. Everything they’ve written in their Overview is - arguably - a load of boll*x. The online pictures you’ll see, much like the pristine and rather cool reception area are there to lull you into a false sense of security. Once you check in - which I suppose is also a potentially worrying experience depending on which staff member you get, coz they couldn’t find my booking at the outset - and take the elevator to your room you will quickly realise, there is something very wrong in the state of...well, Brussels. Carpets are filthy and stained terribly. It’s not funky. It’s dirty and grubby. It didn’t get any better. The carpet in my room had what looked like blood spatter. The curtains were stained. There were hand marks on the walls. There was a kettle. But that’s all there was. No teabags and no coffee. There was nothing. The air conditioning worked, but I’ll come back to that. There was a small bathroom which was passable. The shower had good pressure and the toilet flushed. I was appalled, but I suppose I thought better of it because I had just spent four days at Rock Werchter and was grateful for the small mercy of a room and a bed to sleep on. I had a shower and walked around the block and then into town. BE ADVISED - THIS IS NOT A SAFE AREA! I was appalled at where I was. I spent most of my evening in Brussels centre and when I did get back to Brussels-Midi - which the hotel is close enough to - I had no second thoughts about getting there as quickly as I could. A very unsavory area. Into the room, but even with the door locked, I didn’t feel secure. Anyway, back to the air conditioning. I had the air conditioner on for a good portion of the evening but found that the next day I was physically ill. Difficulty breathing, escalating heartbeat. I am putting this down to the bad air quality in the room and the likelihood that there could well be a carbon monoxide issue.
If you’ve read this and you are thinking about booking a room here, please, please, please save your time AND your money. Pay a little extra and go somewhere where you will enjoy your stay.
If you are reading this and you work in the hotel, you have to know, you are letting people down and you don’t serve your fellow man. You have a lot to improve on.
Chambre pas très propres (moquette) . Wifi irrégulier . Personnel pas tres TV ne fonctionne pas très bien .
Je ne recommande pas cet hôtel
