I liked the location, the friendly staff and good service, also the outside appearance of the hotel. The room I was in was good, only thing missing was a small refrigerator.
The service was decent and the property generally clean, however the hot water supply was highly unreliable and we were forced to take cold showers on several occasions.
when we arrived and tried to have a shower, there was nothing coming out. we called to the front desk, the problem was resolved the next day, but we where only there for the night.
Tried to go for dinner and was told no menu, just chicken breast and choice of potato. No thanks.
Tried for breakfast the next morning at 7:30 and everything was chained up.
Not impressed, if restaurant not available tell me when I book so I can make other arrangements. After a long day of travel a hot shower and a meal is what I want.
I stayed at the Haddon from 5th July to 13th. The Hotel is located within walking distance from the city which is very convenient. The room was well kepted and the cleaning service is superb. I came for carnival and left the room in quite a mess rushing from party to party and it was serviced like I have just checked in each time. The restaurant does not have a set menu (I believe new management is currently working on new menus) however the wait staff and kitchen were always happy to recommend and prepare food. I was even able to get a meal deliver to my room after a day of partying. The bar is also well stocked. The management and staff are extremely friendly especially Jorge, Chelsea, Gus and Cleo who were always quick to help. I was very comfortable during my entire stay. I hope that they fair well with their upcoming improvements, as the Haddon is a promising gem in the heart of the city.
The purpose of my two-day trip was to visit the National Archives which was walking distance from the hotel. This was a great advantage for our busy days as it made getting to and from very easy. We were present for only breakfast (2 mornings) and dinner (1 evening). Unfortunately, perhaps due to ongoing management changes, there was no set menu - this made it difficult to plan ahead for our meals. Thankfully the staff were willing to be the go-between us and the kitchen in figuring out what was possible. All staff members were very friendly and gave great customer service. However there is so much more potential for this ideally located hotel.
I don't require much luxury. The room was more than adequate and the breakfasts were excellent.
The hotel was well placed; not far from the town and port, where the ferries leave to other islands.
Room was not available. I cam in late and had to be moved to another hotel. Very bad
Had a little mini break to st.vincent and was put up at the Haddon. At first on looking at the previous reviews I was a little bit sceptical but was pleaseantly surprised at my three days there. The rooms were comfortable and clean the bed was cozy and up to international standard in a small country.
The staff had huge international appeal very friendly and eager to assist with everything. A nice hotel bar and restaurant to please all. I would def stay here again in the future as it's also very close to the capital and a short drive to all the trendy restaurants and bars.
the room was clean and well kept. The receptionist and other staff were exceedingly friendly, pleasant and helpful and made you feel like home.
Haddon is ideal for a budget business person or a visitor from some other CARICOM country looking for a bargain. There was no dining room service in the evening but one can eat out so that shouldn't be a problem
So I would say that St Vincent is less developed than other islands that I have visited with regard to infrastructure and places to stay
Saying that the staff were really happy and happy to have us there
We had a few teething problems but once we spoke to reception and the manager they were resolved quite quickly
not a luxury hotel but it was good enough for us
The hotel is located close to the town with all the attendant facilities to make one stay enjoyable
I live in St. Vincent, but wanting to be close to town for carnival we booked a room at Haddon. And here's the good and bad of it--
Good: If you're coming to St. Vincent for Carnival, and you want to have the convenience of being in town but still being able to get a good night's rest, then Haddon is the place to stay. Very clean, comfortable, and perfectly situated close to town so that you can walk to and from Carnival events easily, even if you're drunk! And it's in a quiet corner, so you can rest after the fête.
Bad: Don't expect the description of the room to actually match the room. We booked the Standard Double Room, which in hotel speak usually means a room with two full or two queen sized beds. That's not what we got. We got a room with one queen and the roll-away bed we requested. It worked for three people, but it was certainly a disappointment.
My advice to any potential guest is to expect a decent, affordable room but call to make sure you're getting what you book.
Hotel needs renovation-
very old. Rooms are not very nice or clean. Would definitely stay at different hotel for next trip.Pictures of hotel online are not accurate.
Excellent location just walking distance to the heart of the city where u have access to to any where on the island or into the Grenadines
Can't even have good breakfast because they don't have this they don't that it was ridiculous for a 3 star hotel or any hotel.
My trip began from Tampa Florida at 3:00A.M arrived in SVG, 10:44P.M
Very long trip, when I got to the hotel, checking was a breeze, went to my room, and to my surprise, some sandwiches and water was waiting for me,
I was so blown away, from that point on I knew I was going to enjoy my stay, the whole staff was outstanding, and very friendly and engaging, the food was a delight to eat, ( sorry no pictures of food) I was to busy stuffing my face.
This is a hotel I will be going back to next month, and anyone going to SVG, should stay there, very close to town, without feeling your are their😃😃😃😃AWESOME HOTEL
Stayed here for one night before catching a ferry to Union Island. For the price it was as expected.
The new renovation is classy. The catering is fantastic, food was delicious. My room was luxurious, clean and relaxing. Reliable wifi connection. Conveniently located close to Kingstown and environs. I truly enjoyed my experience. The staff were accommodating and friendly.
Avalon
Staff at this hotel are excellent. Their attention to detail is outstanding, friendliness we have not experienced in other places.
We found the hotel via hotels.com after a nightmarish sailing trip. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed including air conditioning, free wifi, clean and unique rooms and a nice shower. It's been recently renovated and has a lovely bar and restaurant. The wait staff was very friendly and gave us insight into the island. It's not on the ocean but rather up in the hills and a great spot from which to explore the island. Had breakfast and the food was very good. Manager came by to check in us which was very considerate. It's a developing island and you get a true flavor of it without a lot of commercialism.
