Good accommodation for a couple of nights.
Pros:

Great location. Esperanza is very small, so I’d say all accommodations have a good location actually.

There are beach towels, chairs etc to use for free. That was nice.

Cons:

The communication prior to arrival was very poor. I was traveling and only had a data eSIM. Host does not answer WhatsApp, Booking messages or any other messaging service.
We booked a chalet (bedroom + living room with sofa bed) and asked for sheets for the sofa bed as we were 2 friends traveling together. He was surprised when i mentioned it at the check in but he gave us a bag with sheets and towels.

No AC in the living room, so the one sleeping there got a bit warm.

Better alternatives for lodging elsewhere in VQS
Pros:

Location is very good. Beach chairs, coolers and beach towels are available. Good to have supplies to make coffee.

Cons:

Had stayed at Tortuga before. This time the unit’s floor was not clean, the bed is due for replacement as it is lumpy and uncomfortable, and there is noticeable lack of maintenance and upkeep.
When paying for a stay, a customer expects appliances that work (A/C, fridge, MW) and hot water.
Sarcastic and condescending treatment are also not appropriate.

Si volvemos a vieques sin duda volveríamos a este mismo sitio!
La habitación era más de lo que nos esperábamos!
Personal muy atento y amable!

Cons:

Tema limpieza.. no es el sitio más limpio del mundo. Pero por lo que vi.. era todo vieques igual! muy rural!

On the day of check-in, I was advised by the landlord to cancel my stay at the hotel, and said that I could get a full refund by contacting booking. But I contacted booking that day and was told that I couldn't get a full refund. And no refund has been received within five days. Is this a black shop?

Pros:

Super cute guesthouse in a central location. We loved it. We were able to drive to amazing beaches, and walk from the guesthouse to our bio bay tour and to various places to eat, shop, drink, and dance. The place was absolutely charming, with everything we needed for a nice stay. We were even visited by a sweet feline friend.

Pros:

Great location just off of the main road.
Lovely owner who was quite welcoming and friendly.
Stayed in one of the casitas which was very cute and comfortable--lots of space and a little kitchenette.

Cons:

No significant cons other than price but that's more a complaint about Esperanza in general--found it to be on par with other guest houses in the area.
