Pros:

Nice and clean rooms, we were a big group of 11 people and had a nice big apartment and a regular size room, which was super nice. We loved the pool, hot tub and sauna, and breakfast was nice as well.

Cons:

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

Average hotel for an expensive price
Pros:

The hotel was fine. It was an average, reasonably clean room that included breakfast. I did like that it had a tub.

Cons:

The WiFi was unbelievably bad. There was almost no WiFi signal. I’ve never had WiFi like this at a hotel. There’s also no cell service, so I was relying on the wifi.
The price is also ridiculous for what you get. Anywhere else, this hotel would be $150 or less per night.

I'll be back.
Pros:

Love the pool and hot tub. The little gift shop is a nice idea. Coffee, tea and ice water 24/7 is AWESOME! Great breakfast choices. Rooms are quiet and comfortable. Love the remodel. It really refreshed the property!

Cons:

Price seems a little steep at over $200/night for single occupancy. Other than that, no complaints.

Great budget hotel for family weekend
Pros:

This place has a fantastic location, and I was very please and surprised by the cleanliness of both our room, the lobby, and the pool. The staff was so kind and quick to help. The breakfast had enough options for my picky kids and the pool is large and clean. They even have a fire pit to use, although we didn't get a chance to use it. The room was clean and updated, but the bathroom is TINY, which is hard with kids... but we made it work and the rest of the hotel definitely made up for it. There's even a balcony off the pool where you can view Lake Superior from across the street (this is NOT a lakeside hotel) and there's a park across the street with a playground. Very nice place for a 2 star hotel. Will absolutely stay here again.

Overall I felt very comfortable and safe in the hotel and would stay there again.
Pros:

The room was small but very comfortable, the bed was comfy and so were the sheets, blanket, and pillows. The refrigerator worked well!

Cons:

The room was very close to the lobby/breakfast area so it was not quiet in the morning.

Nice place and a good alternative when in the area
Pros:

We were in Tofte for a wedding. The venue (Bluefin Bay) was sold out, but there were rooms available at the AmericInn and it was a perfectly nice place to stay. Also less expensive (by a significant margin) than a stay at Bluefin would have been. It's a rock-solid alternative.

Cons:

I didn't have any specific issues. Breakfast was good, although they ran out of regular cream cheese. That's a quibble, though. Clean, comfortable and generally affordable is a winning formula.

Nice one night stay before a big hike. Real bummer about the broken hot tub but otherwise good.

We were pleasantly surprised by how nice our stay was and would come again and recommend it.
Pros:

Lots of variety in breakfast options and everything tasted good. The pool which we didn't use was beautiful as well as the view from the pool.

Cons:

The bathroom needed revamping. I don't know if it would be possible to enlarge but it felt cramped.
