Staff location and facilities were fantastic
There was a lot of dust on the furniture, the room is exceptionally small and the mattress was softer than a bean bag
It was so lovely from start to finish. The upgrade offer was such a nice touch and it made the stay that bit nicer. Gym facilities are great for a hotel and I loved the sauna and pool. Thanks for a lovely last minute getaway.
There was nothing
We booked The Dean back in January for this coming week. We got an email on Friday saying they had to cancel our booking due to renovations and offered us a room in the docklands. I rang and explained why this option wouldn’t work for us, they insisted they did not have any other rooms available yet there was a room available on their website at the time. The exact room I had booked is back in sale for an extra €100 so the renovations must have been magically completed over the last 48 hours even though it’s a weekend.
Very disappointing experience and will not be staying at a Dean hotel again.
Hotel staff lovely location good but depending what your doing.
Wasn't told mini bar was not included. I didn't reserve breakfast when booking so had to pay extra for that. Next door to nightclub
Location
We booked a balcony room but where told that it was unavailable
Pool was lovely, comfy bed and bar was lovely
We were put in the townhouse when booking we were told we can get room service but we then couldn’t, staff in Sophie’s roof top were mainly nice the manager/ person in charge was very rude to the staff and rushed us out
The pool, the location, air conditioning.
Great location - lovely staff
A location that I have trusted before on several occasions to be on point and dependable
You ruined our day in Dublin. You first moved us by communication to another Dean location 2 weeks ahead of time. When we showed up there they eventually told us our original Dean location was still correct (no communication) cost us an hour all in. Then when we went to the original location they didn’t have our room ready (at 3:15pm) told us it would be “a few minutes”. After 20mins when I was standing 20 feet away the same girl who started out check in motioned me and told me to sit down. This was an appalling gesture and I should had walked out and cancelled right there. 15 minutes later, she told us it would be 15 more minutes and that they were cleaning the room. 2 of us left to park the car and when we were back (20 minutes later) it took another 30 mins to get the room.
Some guy that we found out was the manager that was sitttng at a table on a laptop the whole time and said nothing to us finally came up at the end and gave us free breakfast passes (how magnanimous). We missed two events we had scheduled because of there “just a few minutes” choice of communication style. It squashed our day when all they had to say was to leave our bags and go, because it was going to take the 2 hour extra that it did.
I’ve been to the Dean multiple times before over the last 5 years. I will never come again and ensure anyone I know does the same..shameful service both before and during.
It was very central to everything!
The noise at the night time.
Great location, comfortable beds, Sophie’s Rooftop has been renovated and was lovely! Rooms had been painted since we were last there and looked lovely.
Couldn’t sleep!! We’ve stayed in The Dean a couple of times before and loved it, but we’ve realised we have been lucky to be on the quieter side of the hotel both times previously. This time, we faced on to a night club and its smoking area and it was ridiculously loud music and people talking until 4am. Tried the cheap earplugs they leave you and didn’t work, so it was a night of zero sleep. Very disappointing when you’re paying £250 for a relaxing night away. This alone would make me never stay here again unfortunately as it’s a lot of hard earned money to waste lying listening to thumping music all night. Understand it’s a city and we live in a city too but it was ridiculously loud - literally below the window.
We also had to be moved to a different room upon check in as the sink in our first bathroom was really dirty and stained. We noticed the bathroom even in the second room was worn and radiator covered in dust etc. Again, not the level the place was cleaned to previously. Won’t be staying again, sorry to say.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful, especially the night porter, who went above and beyond to assist us.
The room was located at the front of the building, so there was some noise from traffic and pedestrians, particularly during busy times.
I’m only leaving a review for the lovely lovely receptionist. Her name was Iulia and she made us feel so welcome, she was such a sweetheart. Such a good face to the hotel.
Breakfast could’ve been a lot better but I think that’s because Sophie’s was closed?
Great location and staff. Bed was very comfortable
Nothing but renovations ongoing
