Dean Wedding
Pros:

We got married at The Dean in Feb 2026. We were looking for a city centre venue that would be flexible in it's offering, a bit cool and could hold more that 100 people and The Dean ticked all those boxes. Kaela, the wedding planner was excellent from the outset and was quick and clear with the offerings. We wanted to do things like our food service a little differently and they were receptive and responsive to everything - even coming up with more food options for us when requested. They were the only place in Dublin that we spoke to who were happy to do things our way, rather that us doing things their way which we really appreciated. We had several meetings leading up to the day which gave us confidence.

The staff on the day could not do more for us. They checked people in early when rooms were available and anything we asked for they said 'yes' with no hesitation and made it happen. Ari in particular was amazing.

Our guests had a great time too and complimented the Marshall room which we would definitely recommend and the food.

Thank you to all the staff for an excellent day!

Cool & Eclectic NOT a hotel vibe or feel
Pros:

Cool vibe, not a comfy hotel. Like sleeping in a well-decorated warehouse. Dead birds outside the bathroom on the ledge were an interesting vibe. Good for a hen night-not a family.

Our wedding day at The Dean
Pros:

We had our wedding in The Dean, Dublin. And honestly it was THE BEST decision we made.

The food tasting experience for our menu was spectacular, and made so special with Jenny in Sophie’s.

The communication from Kaela throughout the planning process was second to none. Any hiccups faced along the way, Kaela was there to support & calm us.

The staff from start to finish on the day went above and beyond. The food was an absolute HIT with our guests. And Nera, the manager on site was just so amazing.

I can not fault the Dean in anyway & we truly had the best day 🥰

Sooooo Disappointing.....
Pros:

The idea of staying with this hotel! I received a really generous voucher for my birthday from friends for this hotel and chose Dublin to attend a show in the Gate theatre the same night.

Cons:

My first time posting such a negative review- very disappointed in our experience. Unfortunately despite choosing to NOT proceed with an online check in, the hotel staff told me booking.com took the full amount for the hotel prior to arrival so i could not use my voucher as planned towards cost. This only happened on route to dublin. This was NOT clear when booking. I found staff were a little rude/ blunt about this and advised me that going through a third party was the reason for this. Not necessarily true as it has not been an issue in other hotels. Option to pay cash on arrival also chosen through booking.com. I also DID NOT PROCEED/ COMPLETE WITH ONLINE CHECK IN to purposely avoid this.
Room was located on the first floor but down a flight of stairs..tricky to get to. My partner had a crutch. Maybe worth mentioning for people that do not expect this layout with lift access. Check in included me completing a taxi booking to the gate theatre for 6.30pm, that didnt arrive. Desk had nobody there to query this with.10 mins waiting behind a queue of people trying to check in, we had to organise another taxi, resulting in us leaving later than planned. Only 2 'Paper' cups available in room. Mini bar selection poor. Sophies resturaunt closed ( for renovations) but the resturaunt options were very very poor and food only available in the main bar area. Caeser salad was massively underdressed- arrived rather bare and embarrassed with unloved chicken and/ or parmessan. One half a tomatoe in my partners salad that accompanied his rather underwhelming chicken burger and anorexic chips. Not worth the overpriced cost! No rockshore available. Booked a room with a balcony yet we got a basic room with no balcony, a record player that didnt work properly, window view of construction site and scaffolding ( awful) only, paper cups ( mentioned again due to the travesty if it) and a dirty shabby looking sink.

Not what it used to be
Pros:

Zero atmosphere in the lobby bar. Restaurant and rooftop bar closed for renovations so avoid the lobby bar as it’s lacking any atmosphere right now.

A very nice hotel, with good facilities, but not the most ideal if you're wanting a quiet sleep
Pros:

A clean room with a very comfy bed

Cons:

The hotel is right next to a night club, so you can often hear music until 4am over the weekend

Pros:

Staff were very friendly

Cons:

Booked the hotel as a gift for my dads 70th. Very disappointing that the restaurant was closed and we weren't informed when booking. Part of the reason for booking here was to enjoy shophies rooftop. The next day the hotel shut down power from 10am to 4pm without informing us at booking or even check in. We received a WhatsApp 30 mins before power was turned off. My father and his partner were unable to have a shower. They were told they could go to another hotel in the group to shower . Not exactly the expierence/gift we were hoping for. Very bad communication from hotel. We would not have a booked here had we have known the hotel couldn't provide the service we expected and paid for. Very disappointing.
