Great little hotel in a superb location
This is a great little hotel in a fantastic location. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the Freddie Mercury statue, around 5 minutes to the ferry terminal and just over 5 minutes to the train station. If you arrive by train, there’s a lift at the side of the Barrel Oak Irish Pub, so there’s no need to tackle the steps with your luggage!
Buses are free with the Riviera Card, which you receive through your hotel booking, and the bus stops are close by with frequent services. There is also 20% off ferry tickets with this card and up to 50% off other local attractions.
There are plenty of lovely cafés, restaurants and bars within easy walking distance of the hotel, as well as a Migros supermarket for any essentials.
The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning! I would definitely recommend asking for a room with a balcony when booking, it’s well worth it to be able to sit outside and enjoy the views.
The staff were all really friendly and helpful. A special thank you to Marlen in particular, who was fantastic throughout our stay. She was an absolute ray of sunshine and went out of her way to be helpful.
The bar and dining area were lovely, with fantastic views, and there was a good choice of options at breakfast.
Our room was very clean, comfortable and a good size. There wasn't any air conditioning, but the large fan provided was more than sufficient for us, so don’t let this put you off.
Overall, we had a really lovely stay and would happily return. The combination of the fantastic location, breathtaking views, comfortable rooms and genuinely friendly staff made this hotel a great base for exploring the area. We felt very welcome during our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located hotel with a beautiful view.
We would have liked a bedside table and maybe another small desk or chest of drawers under the TV as surface space was limited. Also a toilet brush.
Die unkomplizierte und sehr freundliche Betreuung bei Reception, Check-out und dazwischen. Wir konnten Gepäck dalassen, das in einem Nebenraum weggeschlossen wurde. Die Zimmer sind modern und praktisch, sehr sauber, Betten sehr bequem. Wenn die Fenster geschlossen waren, hörte man den motorisierten Verkehr von der Strassen praktisch nicht. Zum Glück war die Hitzewelle vorbei, auch so war es nachts noch sehr warm in den Zimmern. Es gibt keine Klimaanlage, nur einen grossen mobilen Ventilator.
Das Design der Zimmer ist ansprechend und frisch, auch der 1. Stock mit seinem Aufenthalts-/Barbereich und Frühstücksraum hat ein originelles Decor.
Frühstück: für diese Preiskategorie war das Frühstücksbuffet knauserig. Frische Früchte gab es nicht, stattdessen Fruchtsalat aus der Dose. 2 von 3 Konfitürenspender waren leer. Der Kaffee war qualitativ eher unterdurchschnittlich. Keine Rühreier oder Bratspeck. Es gab: 3 Sorten Brot, davon 1 Vollkorn. Toast, Butter, Käse, etwas Schinken. Jogurt in Bechern. Mueslimischungen in Portionenbeutel. Kaffeevollautomat für verschiedene Zubereitungen. Rohe Eier zum Selber Kochen, gekochte Eier. Fertige Pancakes, Croissants, 2 Sorten Brötchen. Orangensaft, Apfelsaft und Wasser aus einem Getränkespender.
Uns wurden vorgängig 2 Zimmer mit Balkon bestätigt. Beim Einchecken erfuhren wir, dass wir 1 Zimmer mit Balkon und 1 Zimmer ohne Balkon, beide zum gleichen bestätigten Preis, bekamen. Keine Preisreduktion. Das fand ich persönlich etwas unehrlich.

Instalaciones un poco pobre. Nos dejaron ventilador pues hacía mucha calor.
Si quieres vistas al lago cobran suplemento. No es fácil aparcar en los alrededores.

El self checkin muy sencillo. La habitación era enorme y muy cómoda y limpia.
Las maletas se dejaban en una consigna que no tenía código ni llave y la puerta del alojamiento estaba siempre abierta.

Friendly staff
The location is perfect, 5 mins away from the station and facing the lake. Very beautiful surroundings. The reception staff were very helpful and provided us with free croissants while we were waiting to check in.
