Cleanliness
6.3
Multiple comments about dust on buffet glass, dirty carpets, shabby paintwork and 'not clean' door frames — cleanliness is below expectation.

8.9
Staff frequently described as friendly and excellent, though there are isolated negative incidents (wedding food issue, some unfriendly staff and staffing shortages). Overall service is generally good.
Location

Repeatedly praised as an excellent/ideal/central location with fantastic lake views; very strong positive sentiment.
Room Quality
9

6.2
Pool and parking availability noted but both incur additional charges; pool access for a fee and paid parking were a common complaint.
Value for Money
5.8
Several guests called the hotel overpriced, especially due to extra charges for parking, pool use and pets — perceived poor value for extra fees.
Food and Beverage
7.3
Mixed to negative: multiple reports of poor/cold breakfast and undercooked items, some good evening meals; overall food quality is inconsistent.
Overall Experience
9.1

Enjoyed our stay location excellent.
Pros:

Location excellent staff very friendly room was very comfortable and spacious.

Cons:

Had to pay for parking.
Breakfast time was a bit congested when getting your food and hot drinks as only one door to pass through.
Hotel situated at top of cardiac hill 🤣 wouldn’t recommend for anyone one with any disabilities.

A Nice Break ..
Pros:

Bedroom was great and bed was sooo comfortable. Bit of a mix up when checking in as they couldn't give us the room we selected and had allocated us a different room that we weren't happy with. However, after a discussion, they gave us a different room that we were delighted with

Cons:

Bit shabby in places, paintwork etc. Seemed to be very short of staff.

Overall alright stay, would of been better if we got out on the 1st floor.
Pros:

Breakfast was great and the location is ideal.

Cons:

Hotel was great, only down side is the lift - we had a pram for our little one and it was a nightmare to be honest, it just fit in the lift but couldn’t get our bags in. I had to leave the pram on the 1st floor and take our bags up and come back for the pram. Then the 1st floor lift never worked so I had to carry the pram up!

Overpriced
Pros:

It was a good location to Windermere, however it ontop of a big hill

Cons:

Advertises being dog friendly, charges a lot extra for a pet friendly room, then adds another charge for the pet itself, and all you get is a small treat. Room was an extra £40, then another £25 for the dog himself. For a ripped up dog blanket, dirty carpets, and basic room. Would have expected a lot more for the additional charge.

Cons:

Cooked breakfast was cold on cold plate and sausages, bacon and mushrooms under cooked. Parking was extra and subject to availability. You'd expect to have free parking as a resident.

Pros:

I have been going to this hotel for a couple of years now. It was always good up until now.

Cons:

We arrived on the Friday and there was no parking spaces. So we asked the staff she said you can go to another hotel which was about a mile away. Why would I even want to think about that. So I hung around and was quite fortunate as someone was leaving and I parked in that space then I had to pay at a parking meter. So I asked the staff if I pay for parking and go out am I guaranteed a space when I come back she said no. So I had to pay £10 per day and would maybe lose my space.
Also it looked like the hot plates were not working as the breakfast was cold we asked one of the staff to check. He came back and said they were on we said ok but the food is cold he just shrugged his shoulders and said I don't know why that is and walked away.
