Nice modern room
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Lovely breakfast
Comfy bed and pillows (I actually bought some pillows online after our stay as they were so comfy)!
Very handy for everything
Room could have been a touch bigger
Great location
Some of the staff around meal times seemed very miserable and unhelpful.
A smile wouldn’t hurt
View
Walk up the hill
Great location. Breakfast and overall service was good. Nice clean and spacious room ( Biskey suite ). Communal areas and dining room very very nice.
Bed was very comfortable and the views from the terrace were sensational
It was my wife’s birthday and I’d ordered drinks to be in the room upon our arrival as a birthday surprise. I messaged the day before and was assured they would be in the room upon arrival. We arrived at 3.15pm.
They weren’t.
I went down to reception and enquired about them.
No apology just ‘ I’ll have them sent up ‘.
It took another 15/20 minutes for them to arrive.
Very disappointed they could not get something so basic right .
Location
Very disappointing experience and certainly not what I would expect from a 4-star hotel.
The room itself was not dated, but several areas clearly required maintenance and attention. There was mould in the bathroom, the toilet seat was broken, and there was a dirty yard brush left on the roof, which was very unappealing.
The room was also extremely hot, and unfortunately the air conditioning was not working, making it very uncomfortable, especially at night.
Overall, the hotel as a whole would benefit from better maintenance and greater attention to detail. The issues we experienced fell well below the standard I would expect from a 4-star property. Unfortunately, it did not feel like a 4-star hotel.
Location, reception staff , bed
Breakfast wasn’t good , dusty rooms and not cleaned during stay
Location except for steep walk up the road.
Staff were good and friendly.
Functionally okay but lacked a loving touch and ambience. Basic furnishings plus window blind was broken in room. Breakfast average. Disappointed that parking was £10 per day.
Nice room, very good bathroom, comfy bed. Everything you need for enjoyable stay with views of Windermere. Will return.
Nothing
Lovely views of the lake. Good location.
Most of the staff were unhelpful and rude. Key card failed each day and I needed to return to the front desk to reactivate it each day. The staff at the front desk were rude and unapologetic.
Menu very disappointing in the restaurant, no help with dietary requirements.
New payment system for the car park ment you need to return to the hotel each day to pay for the next days parking, this made eating out on an evening very difficult.
There was a problem with the fan in our heating system in the room, we were given a different room, this was a downgrade from the large room we had paid for. The staff again were unapologetic about this and did nothing to compensate for this inconvenience.
The new downgraded room was next to the very loud generator on the roof, this was very loud at night and disturbed sleep.
