Bedrooms separate from each other, with a door. Bed very comfy. Food from restaurant was very good.
Room was old, run down, need a rehab, but is a great old hotel.
It’s downtown location.
I would rather have the hotel had an indoor pool rather than an outdoor pool.
Was only here for about 6 hours to sleep before heading to a work event. Friendly and attentive staff, not fancy, but clean and historic room. Heard breakfast is supposed to be good, but had to leave too early to try it. Pool looked in good condition and hotel has a large, convenient, and free parking lot.
Location
Air conditioning, maintenance request not answered and musty smelling.
Historic property, location, excellent breakfast buffet
A little dated, small bathroom, major renovations going on right now
Everything was exceptional 😁

It is a very old hotel but a lot of character lots of upgrades going on
Looking at rooftops
The restaurant was exceptional both for breakfast and dinner
Bed and pillows were uncomfortable...stains on the carpet in the room.
Beautiful building.
No exhaust fan in the bathroom.
Shower was very dark.
Breakfast was good and the wait staff was excellent
The room was crazy hot. Air not on when arrived and I had a check in time. Fan in the bathroom didnt work and the ice machine on my floor was broke
Nice location..close to many restaurants
Very old property and the rooms seem to be from the 80’s…very musky smell in the whole hotel
Beautiful hotel. Spacious wheelchair accessible room. Delicious breakfast.
My son is in a wheelchair and can’t walk. Our accessible room was in the 8th floor. If there was a fire my son would have been stranded because he couldn’t exit the hotel by the stairs. The refrigerator door didn’t shut properly and our milk was warm in the morning.
I don’t write many negative reviews, but this hotel earned one.
The Genetti bills itself as a historic hotel and proudly displays signs announcing a multi-million-dollar renovation. Here’s a suggestion: before spending millions, hire someone to run a vacuum through the building every day for a few months. Cleanliness would be a great place to start.
If you’re one of the investors behind this renovation, I’d encourage you to spend a night here as an anonymous paying guest before writing another check. You may decide the first investment should be in cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service.
Our first impression was terrible. The hallway leading to reception looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in ages. Several employees walked right past us without so much as a “hello.” One even scowled at us before later working the front desk that evening. Hospitality was clearly not part of the culture.
Unfortunately, the lack of cleanliness continued throughout the hotel. Our room looked nothing like the online photos. It was old, worn, dirty, and in obvious need of repair. At that point, we weren’t worried about luxuries like a working TV or refrigerator—we just wanted a toilet that looked like it had been cleaned sometime this month, lights that worked in the shower, and a hallway outside our door that didn’t make us question whether we’d be safe walking through it at night.
The bathroom summed up the experience perfectly. The shower pipe and showerhead had pulled away from the wall, the shower light didn’t work, and the toilet flushed with all the force of a faint breeze. Nothing about the room suggested anyone had been paying attention to even the most basic maintenance.
The atmosphere didn’t feel like a historic hotel. It felt unsafe and poorly managed. Seeing sweepstakes machines with people slumped over them at 6:00 a.m. wasn’t exactly the welcoming, historic experience the hotel advertises.
This wasn’t an inexpensive stay, which makes the experience even harder to understand. We decided to tough it out, get a few hours of sleep, and leave at first light.
We felt completely misled by the online photos and descriptions. This wasn’t a historic hotel—it was simply a neglected one.
Never again at the Genetti. For the price we paid, this experience was completely unacceptable. Frankly, it has made me think twice before booking another Best Western.
This property is quirky. I really like it stayed many times. They are renovating I hope they maintain it unique character
The elevator is an adventure
The breakfast was great!
