Friendly staff, secure parking, comfortable rooms
Hotel is under remodel
The 1920s style of the building was cool and it seems like it was well preserved and it is walking distance to lots of local restaurants
Our sheets were stained and we unfortunately didn't read the housekeeping note where we had to request new sheets and housekeeping was actually not a daily thing. The breakfast was nice but very limited. It seemed like you could get similar things at one of the chain hotels.
Genetti Hotel Williamsport, PA
I can not say enough good things about this hotel. I was helped with my baggage both arriving and departing, I was given a beautiful room, I was given information about a wonderful restaurant absolutely no concerns were expressed about my Service Dog (he was actually well loved by all of the staff and other travelers we met). The people of Williamsport who helped me were some of the very most friendly of people I met on my travel. Each and every staff member went above and beyond, right down to filling my go cup with hot coffee before I left. When Tim (one of the management team) asked about my destination and I said I would be trying for Lorton, Virginia by that evening, he made a reservation for me in Alexandria.
This hotel made such an impression that as I returned from my business a few days later I purposely planned my travel to stop at Genetti on my way home. The welcome I received was almost better than the first time. The people who work here are amazingly special. There is Stephanie, Nona and Tim whose names I know, but the Breakfast Staff and the Restaurant and Bar Staff are just wonderful as well. If I am ever near there again I will make it a point to stay there. It is easily the best place I have stayed in a very long time. kd 1/2026
The price was right, but you get what you pay for.
This hotel feels dirty and old and the owners don’t seem to care. The bathroom in my room was not clean, and everything was in overall poor condition.
Breakfast was amazing. Dinner was too. Mattress was wonderful. Great amenities. Staff were amazing.
Not one thing
my room smelled like cigarettes, I do not smoke. I found blood on the sheets and when I asked staff to change the sheets, it seemed like they were upset that I asked them to do their job because of blood. The breakfast that morning was very cold, it tasted old and breakfast just started. I stay here a lot, and I was very disappointed for this trip.
How big the bedrooms were
Very convenient location
we didn't have breakfast because mother needed to get home. i brought mother up to see the river dance. i got us a room for the night because of her age (91) and it was so connivant and she didnt need to bring a chair or walker because of it being close enough to walk to..
it was great, brought back memories from the late sixties and early seventies when i was in school. we came on bus trips to see plays they held in the basement.
The property was very convenient to my work. The staff were very friendly
It was very old and outdated. The bathroom was very much in need of updating and was the room. I did not have enough plugs in area to charge my phones. Also the light on the side of the bed did not plug in there for decoration. My room if wondering was 826.
This was our first stay at Hotel Genetti, but will not be our last! We were very happy with our stay. The staff was attentive, welcoming and friendly. We arrived a bit past our dinner time (hungry!) and they offered good recommendations for local eateries. The building is older, so we knew to expect an older feel to the rooms. The bathroom is outdated, but functional and clean!! The breakfast was phenomenal - delicious food, plenty of choices, and very friendly, attentive service. (it's buffet, but the staff is available for any assistance, and constantly replenishing the food). Overall, it's a friendly place with great staff, and the "deal" was a welcome change from other hotels! The location was ideal, walking distance to restaurants and a brewery where we happened upon a great live music performance. The area is very walkable. We hope to return in the Spring!
um, can't think of anything ...
First of all... it was very confusing getting into the hotel. You need to park behind the hotel then walk up a very long and steep hallway, go through double doors to the front desk. Once inside the male front desk clerk was very friendly. The luggage cart/trolley was ancient, wobbly and very difficult to steer. My husband had to struggle to get it over the lip of the elevator. When we got to our room it had two twin beds when we booked two queen beds. I called downstairs and a female answered the phone and was very abrupt with me. She told me to come back downstairs, and she will swap out the key cards "Ma'am. We struggled again with the cart and went downstairs, and they gave us another room. The room was fine but freezing cold. We turned the heat up to 90 and it was cold all night long. We kept our coats on, and I called down and got the same woman and asked for another blanket. When she arrived, I said thank you and she said nothing. Just walked away. Rude. It was so cold we could not even take a shower. The breakfast was fine in the morning, but the dining room was also COLD. Thin sheets. Dirty hallways. We won't be back.
Location
Property needs to be updated. Our room the heat was stuck on it we had to turn temp way down.
Lamp was broken by the bed- it was a hazard. Tv was too small to watch from the bed.
