Beautiful grounds and excellent pool
Upgrades/spacious units available (e.g., Shearwater, 2BR)
Cons:
No air conditioning noted repeatedly
Noise and lack of privacy (roosters, attached studios)

Categories

Cleanliness
5
Multiple guests reported serious issues: visible dirt, dirty footprints on sheets, ants and a termite infestation; cleanliness was a clear negative in several reviews.
Service
9.6
Generally praised — staff described as amazing and Gloria singled out as exceptional — though a few guests reported unwelcoming responses when requesting room service.
Location
9.7
Frequent positive mentions: great spot, amazing views and pleasant outside areas; location is a strong asset.
Room Quality
5.5
Mixed-to-negative: studios described as noisy (roosters, attached units), lacking privacy and AC, some units small/old and different from photos.
Amenities
9.3
Facilities such as pools and grounds were repeatedly praised and are a highlight, though there is no AC and some services (beach equipment) are third-party.
Value for Money
8.9
Perceived as cheaper than alternatives and attractive for the facilities, but value is tempered by cleanliness, noise and occasional staff/service issues.
Food and Beverage
8.4
Little on-site F&B noted; guests reported no room service and staff resistance when requested, so F&B is limited/unsupported in practice.
Overall Experience
10
Highly polarized: many guests love the property, grounds, pool and certain staff members, while others experienced severe cleanliness and noise problems. Overall summary leans very positive for those willing to accept the tradeoffs.

Awesome facilities and beautiful property, but the studios are quite loud to stay in.
Pros:

The property is in a great spot, the staff is amazing and the pool was great! I would recommend anyone stay there if they were going to be in the area and OK with no AC and noise. The facilities is what makes the place though

Cons:

I know nothing can be done, but the Roosters would prevent me from staying there again, as well as when you stay in a studio that is attached to another occupied unit, it is extremely loud. It feels like they are in the room with you so it doesnt feel very private at all in the studio

Great week- friendly staff. Gloria is the BEST!
Pros:

We just stayed a week here and couldn’t be happier. We lucked out and was able to upgrade our room the 2nd day. Grounds are immaculate. Also no bugs- anywhere! We’ve been to Hawaii at least 25 times- multiple islands and always see bugs. This was so great! Gloria was exceptional and went out of her way for us- thank you for everything!! One thing I would suggest is bc there isn’t air conditioning there needs to be a screen door for the front door as the tradewinds really do help keep the unit cool. We kept our front door open when we were home in the late afternoon bc it was so warm. The 2BR unit was spacious and so comfortable. Everything was perfect!!

Pros:

The location and outside area.

Cons:

Has no AC, no privacy, you can hear everyone around you and they can hear you too, no room service, and the staff gets offended when you ask for room service. After when I paid the money the no AC was mentioned, and you can barely find a parking. It's cheaper than other places but didn't feel like the staff were welcoming.

Very dirty and small!
Pros:

They are the worse people and accommodation ever! It is dirty and very small. The pictures are not TRUE. Completely different. Everything is old and dirty.

Termite infestation and nothing they can change about it
Pros:

It started with finding a massive amount of ants in the room around day 4, and then finding an entire termite infestation on day 5. We contacted the hotel staff about the issue and they couldn’t offer much beyond changing our sheets due to the termite landing on them. The amount flying around our room was uncomfortable to say the least, and rather disgusting to say more. We had several other issues (dirty foot print on the sheets when we first arrived at a ‘clean’ room, only one of 3 grill actually functioning, etc) and the termites were just a final straw. When we asked for a number to talk to corporate about the experience they gave it only when we went in person to the office so they could also sign us up for yet another owners meeting to get us to buy more points. This has been a deeply disappointing experience.

REMEMBER- THIS RESORT HAS NO AC
Pros:

My son and I stayed here May 1-8th in a 2 bedroom unit. I AM a Wyndham property owner but paid full price for this week. My son and I have stayed here before and liked that visit. We were celebrating my 70th birthday and were hoping for a good stay.
Check in went well. We were checked in by a very nice lady named Gloria. She is and was a delight to deal with. We would stop in just to say hello to her.
We then met with Colleen who is a rep for Wyndham who set us up for "an update". To us, this is a waste of time, but we made an appointment and went to it as we promised.
The resort unit was definitely dated and showing its age. FYI, this resort DOES NOT HAVE AC. Don't gripe about this fact. Be an educated traveler and check with the resort you are looking at to see if they have the accommodations you desire. I read people's comments about there not being AC at this resort, but there are many reviews that state this fact.
The unit was 'clean enough' not to start bickering about it with The Front Desk. The kitchen had basic cooking items, glasses, silverware and a small amount of dishwasher and washing detergent. The Front Desk will give you more if you need it.
The master bedroom's bed was a little uncomfortable, but tolerable. There was a full tub in the bathroom but it had a terrible showerhead. There is PLENTY of closet space. The washer and dryer are outside of the bathroom in their own little utility room. I would have preferred them to be inside the unit like Wyndham Bali Hai but its not a game changer.
The blackout curtain are another issue. When closed it looks like a crime scene. It reminded me of blood splatter patterns. They definitely need to be replaced. The carpet is showing a moderate amount of wear.
My son's room was VERY HOT at night even with 3 fans.
Parking is free but can be limited at night if the resort is full. I had to park 3 buildings down from my own 3 times during my week stay because we arrived back at the resort after 9pm. Just be aware of this for handicap individuals. The do have designated handicap spots but they are usually one per building.
Wyndham Ka Eo Kai is my second choice if Bali Hai is full. Would I return, sure.

Spending time in Kauai is always great! We just spent as little time as possible at the resort.
Pros:

The pool area was nice; however, the hot tub was non-functional until the last day of our trip. Additionally, the pool was unheated until the last day of our stay.

Cons:

The room was very small and dated. The advertised square footage included the outdoor patio. The 350 sq ft advertised was actually 250 sq ft of living space. Very, very tight for 2 adults. This was our second stay at the facility (2022). The staff treated us differently this time around as were not Wyndham members. Be prepared to rent beach equipment and purchase towels as needed.

Huge one bedroom. Could Easily accommodate 4.
Pros:

Definitely spring for the one bedroom it has a wrap around deck and is about 4 times the size of the studio and includes a kitchen. I was lucky enough to have an ocean view it was amazing. Close to great walking trails.

Cons:

Windows and deck needed a little work but they are set to remodel this year. The hot tub was out of order during my stay.

Sad Stay
Pros:

This stay was a major disappointment. I want to start by saying the housekeeping staff — especially Sarah — was the only bright spot of this entire experience. She was friendly, helpful, and immediately brought fans to help cool the room. The front desk texting system also worked well.
Everything else? A letdown.
The room felt like stepping into a time capsule of broken furniture and neglected maintenance. The bed was so old the mattress slid off the box spring, the outlets couldn’t hold a plug, the table wobbled like it was held together by hope, and the shower was so tight it felt like a phone booth.
But the worst part was the complete lack of solutions. When I asked for a bigger, better bed, I was told there were no rooms available — meaning I had to check out and scramble to find another resort. After all that, I was denied even a small discount for the inconvenience and told to “call Resort Condominiums International.” That’s not hospitality. That’s indifference.
I came all the way to Kauaʻi and expected at least average accommodations. Instead, I got outdated rooms, no solutions, and zero accountability. I would not recommend this property until they invest in real upgrades and treat guests’ concerns with more respect.
