Hotel Restorant Engiadina Ftan

Comfortable, clean, friendly

The property has a fabulous location, in a small hamlet high above the valley overlooking the Tarasp Castle. Plan to arrive early enough to do a “walk about” of this charming village. The hotel itself is very attractive from the outside, a care that us reflected inside as well. The room was on the small side (not unusual for European locations), comfortable but otherwise unremarkable. There were no frills but all the basics were there. Compared to other places that we stayed over this trip, the fare at the Engiadina Ftan was a bit on the high side for what you get. A strange little quirk in our stay: There was no one on the premises to check us in or to Jeep an eye on the place overnight. As far as we knew, having checked ourselves in by way of the paperwork that was left for us to complete, we were in the hotel by ourselves for the night. Some snafu in scheduling prevented the owner/manager from being in the premises until it was time to settle the bill the following morning. The restaurant attached to the hotel was also not functioning, and we were directed to a “partner hotel” (the Bellavista, just off the village square—which is actually owned and run by a son and daughter-in-law) for our breakfast the following morning. In the end, everything worked out ok, but there were some concerned moments prior to actually getting into our room.

Das Hotel Engiadina hat unsere Erwartungen voll erfüllt. wir wurden herzlich empfangen und fühlten uns als Gäste willkommen.
Das Hotel hat schon einige Jahre auf dem Buckel, was sich insbesondere beim Bad und der Zimmergrösse zeigt. Das wird kompensiert durch Sauberkeit und einen persönlichen, aufmerksamen Service. Das Morgenbuffet ist hervorragend und vielfältig. Das Restaurant bietet eine überschauliche Speisekarte mit wenigen, dafür leckeren Gerichten.
Wir haben mit der Famlilie ein verlängertes Skiwochenende im Hotel Engiadina verbracht und werden gerne wieder an diesen gastlichen Ort zurückkehren.
