Pros:

The location. It’s across the river and the parks. Walking distance to activities downtown.

Cons:

Mattress was way too soft for my back. The hotel was very classy; I would have preferred for character.

Pros:

All of it. Location is perfect for an evening walk and some late-night bar hopping. Rooms are spacious and clean. Beds are some of the most comfortable I've ever slept in at a hotel. Showers are powerful, and bathroom amenities are plenty. The city view from where we were on the 11th floor were very pleasant. I've stayed here before, and will absolutely stay again. Top notch hotel.

Cons:

The surprise charge for "resort fees" and parking. Not ideal, but understandable for this hotel.

Stressful stay - insect infestation, broken HVAC, and breach of guest privacy
Pros:

Unfortunately, we experienced several issues that significantly impacted the quality of our stay at the Davenport Grand.

Most concerning is the insect infestation. Flies are everywhere - in the rooms, in the hallways, by the elevators, throughout the hotel. Very visible in the attached photos and videos.

The infestation is likely due to improper cleaning, as evidenced by stains and previous guests' hair on the bedsheets and pillows. Further, there was sticky residue on the hairdryer and other bathroom products.

Also, the HVAC in our room was broken.
- On day 1, the hotel did not have anyone available to assist with resolving the issue, so we slept in the frigid cold.
- On day 2, they sent a space heater to our room (which should have done on day 1) and eventually sent up two engineers who confirmed that the heater's parts had worn out.

Lastly, staff entered our room without permission. When we returned from lunch, the engineers were in our room - without prior notice and despite the 'Do Not Disturb' light being set. This was particularly concerning because I had left my passport and wallet on the desk at that time.

While always courteous and kind, the hotel's Director of Operations would not compensate us for these issues.

Instead, she was only able to offer a one-night certificate to return to the hotel - which is the last thing we would want given how stressful our stay was.

It was okay, very comfortable, but it lacked in the areas I suggested.
Pros:

Very comfortable bed

Cons:

It was next to impossible to get ordinary cable TV programing. It was obvious that the intent was to manipulate people into opting for programing that generated payments, This was not only annoying, but it also seemed deliberately deceptive. There were no materials in the room to sugggest local attractions or places to eat etc. I was surprised that there was no airport shuttle service which used to be standard in even mid range hotels.
