We will come back if visiting the area again. That says it all.
Pros:

I had raced the Triathlon "Challenge Roth", have friends in the Stuttgart area; we had scheduled a get-together and the location of Hotel Pfefferburg was perfect for that. It offers great views over the Schwaebische Alb, is quiet and super clean. The breakfast was excellent. I am German, my partner Beth is American and we had a very relaxing time, which is exactly what we wanted after my exhausting race. Originally I had booked another single room as my stepdaughter was supposed to join us. Unfortunately that did not materialize due to a serious family emergency. At check-in I explained to the owner that we would not need the second room. I did not ask or expect what happened next: He suggested I cancel the exisiting reservation and install a new one for only one room, which would save me some money; he had no incentive to do that and actually lost some money.

Cons:

As often in Germany / Europe the missing air conditioning can be an issue. I am not a friend of freezing inside when outside temperatures are 35 or 40 degrees C, in the US the A/C use is ridiculous but not having the option to make it comfortable was a small annoyance.

Traumhafter Ausblick beim Frühstück. Gutes Frühstück. Tolle Lage. Kostenloser Parkplatz hinterm Haus. Schön eingerichtete Zimmer.

Cons:

Von außen sieht das Hotel etwas heruntergekommen aus. Von Innen ist es aber absolut in Ordnung.

Great place to stop en-route, especially if you have a van or trailer.
Pros:

Great parking opposite the hotel. Views over countryside, obliging host, showers that worked, nice beer in the evening and breakfast in the morning. A short walk to several excellent restaurants as no dinner at the hotel.

Pros:

Mooie locatie. Hond mag mee ook bij ontbijt alleen zit je dan in de serre. Lekker ontbijt, de gastdame komt zelfs vragen of je een spiegel ei wilt.
4 persoons kamer was ruim en zeer netjes
Goed parkeren boven hotel
Wij waren op doorreis maar komen zeker nog een keer weer.

Es war nah am Hochzeitssaal

Cons:

Das Zimmer war voller Ameisen. Das ganze Bett und die Wände übersät mit Ameisen einfach ekelhaft. Nie wieder würden wir das Hotel buchen. Dann haben wir als Paar gebucht und finden zwei Einzelbetten im Zimmer.
