Pros:

We enjoyed the location and the room was adequate. Please make the check in process easier for future guests!! We had a hard time finding the outlying properties - paper maps would help since there is no wifi outside. You should also provide better staffing, signage and lighting. Not at all what we expected!

Overall review of the property and amenities!
Pros:

Overall, the stay was very nice! We ate dinner at their restaurant and the burgers were excellent! There was a bar in the basement, a game room, and a seated area for talking or watching TV. You could use their bikes for free and there were other supplies in the room you could borrow for a hike, etc. The hotel has a rich history and it has an authentic Montana vibe. The staff was friendly and gave good recommendations. The only negative, there is no elevator so make sure you are physically able to climb the stairs with your luggage to the second or third floor. Also, our room was warm without the heat on, so we had to open the window and use a fan to cool it down.

Set up very well for mountain biking, hiking and outdoor activities (cross country skiing). But right next to the train tracks.

Pros:

Main building is beautifully made but beware - no elevator/no television in rooms. Restaurant makes an attempt at upscale gourmet but falls short.

Pros:

We weren't able to get a receipt from the lodge for our stay, even though Hotels.com said the property would provide it, not them. A smaller shower head would have been nice in our room. The flies were pretty bad in the restaurant. You should install screens in there. Everything else was great!

Pros:

Mile + dirt road into property. Provide detailed map with property ID and access info. Unit numbers should be visiable driving by. Leave the light on. This can be done remotely.

Pros:

The floors in our cabin were dirty, like they hadn't swept after the last people had stayed there. The menu at the restaurant at the hotel was very limited and they didn't have a few items on the menu we were interested in. The service road to the cabin was full of potholes and not well maintained.

Pros:

When I booked the Loge Glacier (formerly known as The Izaak Walton Hotel- a much better name because it fits the hotel better) I was expecting rustic and that's what I got. Built in the 1930's, it still has that old time charm. The room was small but very comfortable and shower and sink worked well. I would have loved a TV, but I suppose it would have subtracted for the ambiance. The hotel is very isolated. The nearest store or restaurant is 30 miles away. The food in the cafe was good but had a very limited menu. The lunch and dinner menu were the exact same which would grow old fast if you stay for more than a few days. Being so isolated, there's no other choice unless you eat at the park. I did not care for the $27 per day "resort fee". During the four nights we stayed in September there was not a single special activity going on. They say it's because they can loan equipment, but don't say what this equipment is. A bicycle goes for $35 a day so that can't be part of the resort fee. I wish they could give out some kind of welcome information when you check in, so people know what gear is available, hiking in the area, or anything special going on. Maybe the fee wouldn't have bothered me so much. They are located in a very beautiful area in the mountains. One of my favorite hikes was located just behind the hotel. We had to discover it on our own, because it was another thing they didn't tell us.

Cool place in the woods near Glacier
Pros:

Cabin was in the woods. Overall it was all good. My only complaint was having to drive over a mile on a dirt road that had a lot of pot holes and not fun to drive in poring rain

Pros:

We stayed 4 days. We came in on the Train. It would be nice if there was a shuttle service to help you get back and forth from the platform. It is a 1/4 mile walk . Staff was very friendly and helpfull. We were told that the red bus pucked up there to go on tours and it does not. There is also no car rental like there use to be. So if you are not prepaired ahead of time and you com in by train you are going to be sitting there or pay 100s of dollars for an Uber. I was very relaxing. They do need to have a wider variety of items on the menu. Like pancakes and chicken or fish.
