The hacienda is a huge, old sisal factory which has been tastefully restored. Our villa was large yet cozy, full of period pieces. The restaurant was jaw-dropping beautiful and the food was the best we have had in the Yucatán.
Ricardo was lovely and showed us the grounds: games building (pool, ping pong, tv / karaoke, etc., large pool I could swim laps in, stables for the cows and horses where a monkey also likes to hang out, a ceramics studio and more.
We had a kitchen and coffee maker so we could start with coffee in our little garden before heading over to a fresh breakfast. I didn’t want to leave after 2 nights and days. Will come back!
Room is very spacious which was great. Bed was comfortable. Also the outdoor kitchen area and little pool, what a treat! Lovely to walk around the grounds, it's very green. Such tranquility. Great way to disconnect. Sad we had to leave after 2 nights.
Breakfast was tasty, but I suggest a bit of variety for people who stay multiple days!
Me super encanto y volvere.
This Hacienda is absolutely beautiful and the grounds are stunning, so much to see and explore. The little casita rooms were very clean and well equipped. The staff were wonderful. We stayed here as a family of four and can’t wait to return. Next time we would bring our own food as there’s a kitchen in the Casita, and the restaurant is only opened for breakfast which we didn’t know. Everything was wonderful. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway, and a time to relax in gorgeous surroundings then this is the place. It’s also only one hour from Merida, Izamal and the beach. So a great location for a longer term stay.
It's an amazing place with wonderful energy and fascinating history. Beautiful and comfortable apartments. Wonderful owners are happy to tell about the hacienda and show around the property!
Lovely property…a restored hacienda all to ourselves
Wi-fi on the rooms could be improved.
Amazing place: acres of grounds and lots of buildings, some restored; some derelict. Very quiet (only 1 other couple staying). Food for dinner and breakfast was lovely, and cooked to order. Swimming pool beautiful
Would have been better if there were more people staying. Also, some background information on the history and restoration would have been interesting.
We stayed in this hacienda for 2 nights while driving around the Yucatan area. Our entire trip was organised by a private travel agency, who had booked all hotels for us and put together the route. Compared to the other haciendas where we were staying, this ‘hotel’ unfortunately did not live up to our expectations.
First of all, we stayed here as a family of 4 but received the keys to 2 seperate little ‘houses’. Each house contained beds for up to 6 people, so we were a bit confused as to why the travel agency had booked 2 houses. This did allow all 4 of us to sleep in a bed with a mosquito net, as only 1 of 3 double beds in the house was equipped with a net. A mosquito net is necessary!! The bad hygiene attracted way more bugs than in other haciendas we stayed at.
The houses themselves were okay. Everything was clean, there were 2 bottled of water and some soap was provided in the bathroom. Don’t expect too much of the private ‘pool’ outside your house. Ours were both very small and filled with bugs and leaves.
The food was good but the choice was very small. Our dinner was the same every day: pasta with a choice of chicken, beef or salmon.
We were the ONLY guests at this hotel, so there was no ambiance at all. Dinner area was barely lit, we sat in a huge hall with only 4 people.
This could be a very lovely hotel but unfortunately they are WAY behind on maintenance. It’s a shame because the area is beautiful and the staff was very friendly.
I don’t recommend visiting this hacienda until it’s been properly renovated!
Fantastic Hacienda. Very extensive grounds. Many buildings. The place oozes history.
Rooms/houses are spotless and beautifully designed.
This place deserves many people to visit it.
Great!
It was weird because we were the only guests. The biggest hotel you have ever seen and then just for the two of us. That makes it awkward.
This property was amazing - the rooms are beautiful just like I remember when i was young visiting my grand parents.. and SUPER Clean. amazing how they brought the past to the present and feels like home. - Will be coming back again - all rooms are slightly different and amazing.
This is a beautifully restored hacienda that provides the visitor with spacious and comfortable accommodations within a tranquil natural setting. Everywhere you turn, you'll find something interesting. And the grounds are large enough that you can wander around exploring for quite awhile, then finish off by jumping into the lovely pool. Just one-hour from Merida, but really a whole other world.
