Views and space in the rooms to relax
Personally the bed was a bit soft, but was comfortable
The setting, the room and staff.
The breakfast could’ve improved. Better quality ingredients and scrambled eggs too soft and undercooked for my taste. Twinnings herbal teas are not nice.
This glorious place is a such a great and peaceful place to relax. The stunning views from the really splendid but contemporary rooms. Fresh milk in the fridge is a simple but great example of the thoughtfulness of the hosts. The breakfasts are exceptional with a great range of starters (cereals, fresh fruit salads, granola, etc) and a good range of main breakfast items to pick and choose from. Delightful start to the day.
Evening meals are excellent high standard. Really good hand pulled ales and a tasty wine menu. Our latest stay was sadly only one night, our next will be much longer.
There is much to do nearby in stunning Derbyshire. Great walks from the pub including the reservoir nearby. Chatsworth, Bolsover, There are car, tram and steam train museums nearby. Caverns, Lead Mines to delve into. Matlock Heights and lovely towns and rolling hills plus old rail trails. This is a great place to explore from but also not far from M1 and A38 to get here too. We have been many times and not run out of things to do yet!
Its always sad to leave the fine food, relaxing ambience that the professional team have created here. But the joy is that we know we will be back in the future.
All excellent. Always a little dubious when booking somewhere I have never stayed before but The View exceeded all of my expectations. The suites have been well thought out with everything you could need.
Nothing
Everything was our 6th visit we will continue to return again and again the staff food location owners the room balcony makes for a very relaxing stay
Some of the lights in the bathroom need replacing ! A very minor detail just an observation really !
This was our second visit to The View as the facilities are great and the food exceptional.
The location was a little far from the areas of Derbyshire we were looking to explore.
Einfach perfekt, die Zimmer sind genauso schön wie auf den Fotos. Von der Terrasse hat man einen schönen Blick. Das Essen im Restaurant ist gut, ebenso das Frühstück. Sehr freundliches Personal.
Meals are excellent. Suites are well-designed and luxuriously furnished. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Location is great amid the green Devonshire dales, with a nearby lake famed for its birdlife.
Nothing
The suites were fabulous with a south west facing terrace. Great space and attention to detail.
All good.
The room was spotless, large (I loved the fact that we could watch a TV from a sofa and not just sitting on a bed) with a stunning view, and an added bonus of 'Real' milk in the fridge rather than the UHT capsules that you normally find.
We only had the breakfast there but it was lovely, I especially enjoyed the Scottish Black Pudding. Staff were helpful and friendly, and I would definitely recommend this place.
Nothing, everything exceeded my expectation and it felt like home for two days
The room was simply gorgeous, food was so lovely, staff was so friendly.
A very enjoyable one night stay. The room and view from it were exceptional as was the food at our evening meal and breakfast.
The property was spotless, very relaxing and beautiful views.
Absolutely nothing I didn’t like about it.
Absolutely superb. Great room, super clean, amazing view across the valley. Quiet, with only the sounds of nature to keep us company.
Restaurant & bar were both lovely, 2 local cask beers, in great condition.
Friendly and caring staff and owners.
Food & service at dinner & at breakfast was first class.
Very difficult to fault anything at all.
We would have preferred ground coffee in the room rather than instant.
Spacious, clean, great location, great breakfast
Diner was very good
